The multi-function switch on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am failed in November 2005. The turn signals would not always work, the indicator for the hazard lights would come on in the car and there was a constant clicking noise. I had the switch replaced at a cost of $323 because the dealer told me that eventually both the turn signals and hazard switch would become inoperable. I received a service notice in April, 2006 (#04098) which indicated that the repair would be covered. However, only the hazard switch replacement is covered, not the replacement of the multi function switch. So, even though the failure of the multi function switch caused the same dangerous situation of turn signal/hazard light failure, GM is opting not to cover the cost. Does this make sense to you?
