I work two part time jobs and need my car to get to both jobs. This problem is a pain. Everyone keeps telling you something different and nothing is solving this engine problem. I call the dealership and of course they want to tow it and put it on a machine so they can continuously make money on a car that's been paid for almost five years now.
I will never buy a Pontiac again. This is ridiculous and no one can figure out my problem. Can't trade it or sell it. It won't even move out of my yard.

I got my 2004 Grand Am on 02-19-2014. The problem started about March but it was just the security light would come on so I would pull over and turn the car off then back on and that worked for a while. Now it happens about 4 times a month that my car just won't start. I changed the battery and now I find out there is a recall on my car and GM has yet to get the part to Bakersfield, CA so I can have me car fixed.
I love my car but I WANT IT FIXED. IT IS A PAIN TO SIT WITH THE KEY ON IN THE ON POSITION FOR 15 MINUTES, THEN DO THAT 3 TIMES, AND THEN TURN THE CAR OFF AND TAKE THE KEY OUT, AND THEN IT SHOULD START. SO PLEASE GET THE PART TO US SOON SO MY CAR WILL BE FIXED.

I start my car and will stop to go into the grocery and come out and the car will not start. I have to let it set for 10 minutes on ACC mode to reset the passlock on it. It is very inconvenient and also God forbid if there was an emergency and the car will not start.

i went to my friends to put an amp in to see how my two aftermarket speakers would sound in my trunk. we were just doing a quick hook up and unscrewed the negative and the postive bolts on the battery. we screwed them back in to see if the car will start and now it wont even turn over. me and my friends tried everything we could do for about 40 minutes and still cant figure it out. please help!

Have had this happen MULTIPLE times. Every time I take it in there is a different solution and NONE of them work. My son was stranded with my mother on his first day at school, aside from that I have had to get the car towed 6-7 times for this problem. IT's GARBAGE~!

I purchased a 2004 Grand AM in 2004 and I have had nothing but problems out of the car. The last problem is with the car not starting. The same with all the other complaints. Get to your car rushing to get somewhere and you get nothing. I always have to sit and wait about 10 minutes for the car to reset and then it starts up. This happens atleast 2 times a day. I can't continue to do this everyday. Cold weather is coming and I have a baby. This is a real inconvience and Pontiac really needs to correct the problem. This is a serious class actions lawsuit. How do we get one started?!!!!

i went to start my car in the morning, i worked the midnight shift and wanted to go home. the engine wouldn't turn over, i could tell that it wasn't the battery and gas was being prevented to the engine. i had it towed to a local mechanic and is still waiting for the bad news. i looked on the internet and realized it could be the pass lock system preventing the car to start. if i had known how much trouble that this make and model would cause i would have never bought the car, i work two full time jobs and need a dependable why won't GM fix this problem? the pass lock is a piece of garbage.

I made the mistake of buying this auto "as is" and drove it home. The next day I put insurance and plates on it took it to the inspection station and it failed because of some unseen codes. I was told to drive it for 50 miles to reset it and come back. Instead, I took it to the house and that is where is has been since. New starter, ignition, body control module and yet this thing hasn't moved. This thing is a money pit already and it hasn't had 40 miles on it from me. Now the inspection is out and I do not want to shell out a tow fee for this crap. I do not know if I should just walk away from it and call it a lost or what.
