October last year, the driver's side door latch acted up. I could manually move the latch open and close but it never operated automatically. In fact, I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. Whether if I put the latch in one position, it should return to the other position by itself (spring-loaded). Anyway, I got it to work for a bit then, the door decided to stay closed. Tightly closed. Can't open the freekin' thing. Gotta climb over the seat and get out the passenger side. I'm 52 and, while its not terribly difficult, its rather annoying. Haven't tried the NASCAR thing yet. Too cold here in Delaware and the car's really cruddy.
Well, as fate would have it, the passenger side door won't close. The latch is operating the same way the driver's door did. It's not floppy or loose, it just doesn't move unless you push on it. I can't get the door to latch close. I can't help but think it will wind up latching itself shut like the driver's side. Until then, I'll have to rig up some bungee cords to hold the door closed. And, the wife reminds me, make sure the insurance policy is up to date. Maybe I can cut an escape hatch in the roof like the NHRA boys do. A death trap looking for a place to happen.

Any ideas or thoughts are welcome.
