1998 Pontiac gran prix daytonia limited edition 3.8 V6 super charger engine. Less that 50,000 miles. A/C compressor has gone out, service mgr. (rick) bob neill Pontiac, winston-salem, nc has advised us that warranty expired in May 2004. Company will not do anything to correct this problem. In a car with less than 50,000 miles the A/C compressor should last longer. Also own 1992 Chrysler T & C mini van A/C still going strong original parts and A/C coolant.

Air conditioner odor due to water remaining in airbox fermenting, 4 years later no solution although repair shop says they replaced evaporator core they did not, , advised me to turn on fan for 5 minutes after using air conditioner, hardly reasonable to do, sit in car for 5 minutes before leaving, they did spray some kind of fungicidal into airbox once and have since been thinking about what to do.

The A/C control setting malfunctioned. If set at 70 degrees, it would go up to 90 degrees and higher and stay at that setting, if lowered the setting, it would go below the setting the occupant set it. Tsb # 970901739017
