2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. Consumer writes in regards to engine fire due to oil leaks recall (15V701) fix was to reroute spark plug wires. Consumer states engine fires start on exhaust manifolds and not spark plugs wires. The consumer stated plastic headlight lenses fogged up to the point that made them useless and the power steering assist and failed. Also, the rear valve cover was leaking.

In 2000 and I believe this was not accidental in anyway-I asked for my brother to come to my home in 1999 because of people who would not get out of my home in anaheim-my Toyota cressida in 1990 or so had been hit with something in my own driveway without anyone getting the anaheim police or go over to the neighbors on both ends-I had their kids over for dinner numberous times- of the street on wilken way -w these people were practicing tacking houses using people they knew, to get money from your house-they all had my phone number and none of them called to protect our houses.

: the contact stated when turning at speeds below 15 mph, the steering wheel would stick. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop. The repair shop is flushing the steering system and adding a conditioner. This is an attempt to repair the problem before changing the rack and pinion.

Steering is hard to turn at low speeds. Have heard popping sounds. Power steering fluid is good. When braking car pulls to the left, when letting off the brake the steer wheel turns. Lost steering all together after popping again occurred; steering wheel snapped and spun freely. Lost all control of car.

I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT. I had trouble with the power steering when slowing down to make. We started noticing popping noises as I was driving and on 2/1/05 after making a turn I again heard a pop and lost the steering all together. I was able to safely pull into a parking lot and stop the car as the steering wheel spun freely in my hand.

The power steering seemed to be out when I turned the wheels to the left, but worked fine when turning to the right. I took the car in and had to have the power rack replaced.
