A couple days ago I noticed that my key would kinda stick when turning it to get it out. then two days ago it started just getting stuck in the car, after minutes of wiggling, and putting the shifter into drive, reverse, drive, then back to park, praying the key would come out, it WOULDNT!! After reading on someone else RANT, they told me about a circle cover, remove it with a flathead screw driver, and then push it then turn the key and BAM! Key come RIGHT OUT! So for right now..thats what Im goin to be doing to fix my issue. AUGH!! So aggravating!

This is getting really complicating. I have been trying to get the key out of the ignition but it will not come out. Finally my friend removed the key but the car is still on and it starts without the key. Its in park but the light remains on and it is not recognizing that the key is out. I really think this a big problem and they should be a recall regarding this problem.

Starting to feel that purchasing this vehicle was a mistake. Within 7 months i have replaced both front bearing hubs, both axles, Coolant temp sensor, Mass airflow sensor, #3 fuel injector, Fan resistor pack, Trunk release solenoid. The HUD can hardly be seen most of the time. If it were not for doing my own work to vehicle to replace all this, I wouldn't be having a Christmas for the expenses.

Had the shifter replaced. It is doing it again - only on occasion, but same problem as before.

Key would get stuck in the ignition but did not happen 100% of the time. At first I just lived with the problem but then finally got it checked out. They replaced the ignition set (approx. $150-200) and a few months later still had the same problem. I took it back in and they decided I needed a new shifter. This has been replaced and I haven't had the problem since.

I've heard this is a very common problem-very costly to fix if you dont know the shortcut. when you put the car into park, you push the little shifter button to do so, but when you release it after shifting into park, you should hear a faint click in the steering column. if you dont, then you wont be able to turn the key into the off position to take it out. fiddle with the button while the car is still running until you hear the click. then all should be well. its strange but it works every time.

My key doesn't come out of the ignition and its a real PAIN. I also have a problem with the ABS/Trac light coming on it started about the same time the other thing did. I wounder if they are related. My husband and I think it is a electrical problem. We had it at the dealer and they told us the same thing that everyone else had reported but I have not had it fixed, thinking about just getting rid of it.

Took to GM dealership and was told that the problem was that the ignition lock solenoid was bad and that the entire shifter needed to be replaced. Was also told that the solenoid would eventually go out causing the car to not be able to shift.

Under your steering wheel column, there is a small square hole approx. 1 1/2" wide, poke your finger in the hole (palm facing you), feel for small button & push!! Unfortunately now, since you've had the problem, you must do this procedure each time to remove your keys!!!!!!!

The key would get stuck in the ignition, regardless of what I did and I couldn’t get it out of the ignition.
