Am glad I found this website, Please tell friends so that we may get the dealers to become more accountable for defects!

It all started with the rear passenger window, wouldn't respond at all. I took it to the dealership for an extended warranty repair, they called me and told me the window works fine and didn't charge me. Two weeks later the window wouldn't work again, I took the car back to the dealer and they tell me its the motor and window regulator, I have a $100 deductible, no biggie. I get the car home and 2 days later the drivers front stopped working, I take it back I have to pay another $100! I get it back TODAY and now the rear drivers isn't working I have left one angry message with my service advisor I should've tried all the windows before I drove it off the lot! I can't afford to dish out $300 in 1 month but my warranty expires in 1/10!
Update from Sep 1, 2009: So of course I had to wait until a Monday to call my service advisor again. On Saturday I got in my car to realize the control module (on the drivers door that controls all 4 windows and all locks) was coming out of place and it appeared the service technician broke it and GLUED it back together. Sunday I got in my car and only 1 of my windows worked....the control module had been moved around so much from me shutting my door that the wires had come loose from the control module. I again called my service advisor on Monday and explained the situation very firmly...I got my car back today with no charge and a very big apology from the service manager.

Finally my drivers side window has stopped working. I have replaced the other 3 two years ago. This is a total inconvenience since I have to open my door while going to the ATM, drive thru restaurant, and to swipe my gate card at work. What a complete pain in the rear this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Replaced 3 window motors. What a bunch of junk. Just as soon have handles to roll down my windows.

Rear passenger window went out at 75,000 miles. Went went down just fine, then wouldn't go back up. We were able to pull the window up and shim it to keep it up. Will have to stay this way until we can come up $400 - 500 to have the window regulator replaced. Paid the car off at 70,000 miles, of course everything is going to start breaking now!

This is my THIRD window to go out. Driver side front went out 2 weeks after expiration of extended warranty! Passenger rear NEVER USED went out November 2007. Now Passenger front RARELY USED inoperative. Really tired of crummy quality control from this US made car...and it was purchased via the family plan!!!

Okay, here we go again. This time I think the problem is in the wiring to the rear passenger side window switch, but i'm really not sure. The window went down when I used the switch on the rear door, but then would not go up. After several attempts to manually pull it up while someone else used the switch it was no use. The "master" switch on the driver's door would not work either. The only was to get it to go up was to pop off the door panel & use a screwdriver on the back of where the switch is to short it out & the window went right up. I have not gotten it fixed yet since I just shelled out $600 bucks to replace another window & i'm too upset. I have not even tried to use the window again. This is the same window I got fixed about 4 years ago.

Shortly after purchasing this vehicle used several issues cropped up which are all reported on this site. This issue with the window regulator going bad prevented the driver side passenger window from functioning. I was quoted $500 to fix and never had it fixed since we don't have kids and can get by not using it.

I was required to replace a third window regulator on my GP GT about 3,000 miles after replacing my second regulator. So far, the cost has been more than $1,300 out of pocket and I am regretting not spending the $2,100 for the extended warranty since I have one more to go and who knows what else may go wrong.
I really love the car---looks, comfort, power, gas mileage, etc.---but can't afford to be putting $400+ in to it every few thousand miles.

About 5,000 miles after replacing my first window regulator at my expense, a second regulator broke requiring another $465 out of pocket expense.

I had to replace a window regulator at my expense after owning the car for about 6 months. It was purchased used in 2004 with less than 32,000 miles on it. It was not a rental vehicle but a new car trade in at the same dealership where initially purchased. I did not purchase the expensive extended warranty offered by the dealer but at $465 a window for repair, have about paid for the warranty with my out of pocket costs.
The dealership advised they have no recall notices or indication this is a "common" problem on 2002 GP GTs.

This car is beginning to get on my bad side, just brought this car in July 2014 and it has been in the shop more then on the street. Then find out that this Grand Prix is not on the recall list, but everything I had repaired is on the recall list so I am feeling a little pissed off.
