About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Many Pontiac Grand Prix owners are having problems with the following sensors. Traction control/sts/ABS lights come on intermittently or stay on. After doing some research this seems to be a common problem and service dealers have acknowledge that this is a problem. How safe is it for our families and ourselves to be driving cars that do this.

When braking and turning the vehicle at slow speeds, ie parking the car in a lot, the ABS will activate. This occurs at least half of the time I make a slow right turn, and has also happened a few times when turning left. I have had the ABS activate even without touching the brake pedal (accelerating while turning from an intersection for example). Dealership has said the problem is in either the ABS sensor or the wiring harness, but the computer was not generating any codes to specify which, so they are so far refusing to fix anything.
