p038 code, low speed cooling fan, won't turn on
Took to dealership to get diagnosed because if the problem was a short circuit in the computer, it would be covered under warranty.
1) told problem was fuse junction box and that repair would be $695. It was not the fuse junction box, it was just fine.
2) next, told problem was the connector on the harness to the computer. $495
3) next, told it was a broken wire, $695.
Did not let them do any of the work, I did all the electrical diagnostics before taking it to dealers hit, just needed them to determine if it was a broken wire or shirt circuit in computer. I tested all components of system, that is why knew everything the dealer said about fuse junction box and wring harness connector was B.S..
Took car to a local automotive electrical shop, they repaired the broken wire for $135.
The last question I had for the dealer was, "how does one wire out of a bundle of about 50, just break". The could not give me an answer that did not sound like the usual answer you get from dealership's, which is usually total B.S..
