Engine shuts off in the middle of driving and says starting disabled due to electric throttle control, reduced engine power, ABS traction control off. This happens while moving at the correct speed on the highway, stopped at a stop light in the city, and while making turns. Sometimes when it happens I lose power steering and have almost O control of where my car goes. At first this only happened about once a week, but now it can happen up to 10+ times a day

I've had to replace the transmission at 67K miles, and it went out on me again at 110K miles. I replaced the transmission at not only a GM certified dealership, but a pontaic dealership (john hine pontaic) in san diego. The transmission was a GM certified refurbish from Canada. No recalls from GM, and no reimbursement policy. This is an issue.

Steering: Clicking noise when turning transmission has a light slip into 1st and sometimes hard shift into 2nd had this looked at in 2013 while it was still under warranty and the dealer didn't want to acknowledge there was a problem. This should be under recall since more people have this same problem.

This is an issue it felt like someone hit us from behind and yet no one was there. Started driving and the next thing we know the car speedometer just slows down to 30 mph. Luckily was able to get out of high speed lane before an 18 wheeler smashing into the rearend and would have killed my two kids!! this is bull crap Pontiac GM will not do anything about it!! this happened with a GM Envoy that I purchased. I should have known better to purchase another GM product. There are way too many complaints regarding the transmission and steering for GM not to do anything about this this issue, the worst is they know about and will not do anything about it. Some people do not have that kind of money to just crap out and continue to crap out for a known issue!

Just that my car was jerking down the highway.....come to find out bad transmission in these cars. I haven't had it fixed because I don't have the money. So I will keep driving it until it just goes out or hopefully someone steals it. Piece of junk car and GM knows it. I talked to them and they said out of warranty. I knew they would say this but I wanted to tell them I will never buy GM again. I also have to see a chiropractor now maybe because of all the jerking.

On more than one occasion, my car hesitated after stopping at an red light. Upon take off while other cars are behind me if feels like my car gears are stuck. I initially thought perhaps it was the weather or maybe my brakes. No, not the problem because my brakes have been checked and the weather is not always a culprit, I even have new tires. The problem is very scary when your grandchildren are buckle up in the back seat and your car hesitate, transmission slipping not changing gears. This has happened far to many times for my comfort and safety of myself and my family. Additionally, there also been times when the fan stop during this time. Both in the summer with the air blowing and just today (11/12/14), with the heat blowing everything stopped intermittently, what is going on with this car! the problem has only gotten increasingly worst.

Soon after purchase, transmission slips gears coming out of a stop. August 2013, transmission dropped out, driving 30mph. Car was not drivable; no gears. Transmission was replaced. Now one year later, slips gears at 40mph. Headlights went out while driving in the dark. Use of turn signals causes high beams to activate. The cabin fan (A/C and heat) never shuts off. Heat works intermittently. Car seems to shake at times. Feels like a flat tire but when checked, tires are fine. Car rolls when in park, even on flat surface. Car rolls back when in drive, even on slight inclines. Never certain of brakes; at times, works as normal, other times, pedal must be pushed close to the floor to activate brakes.

The transmission bangs into gear and the speedometer goes crazy. At times the car will not start. I have spent over 3K on this fix, with three different auto repair service centers, without it being resolved. The last repair service replaced the ECM (electronic control module), which seemed to fix the issue for about 2 weeks, then it started again. I took it back to the repair place who said he cleaned the condensation from the wires, and it worked again for about 3 days. I let the car sit for 4 days, and drove fine again, for about 26 miles. It seems that no matter where I bring my car to, everyone cannot repair it because the codes provided by the computer, don't fix the problem when the parts are replaced. I know it isn't the transmission, because I had it replaced with a rebuilt transmission since this was one of the diagnosis. I am at my wits end with this issue. I cannot trade the car in because I am an honest person, and don't want to sell car that I know has an issue.

The initial issue that I noticed was when I was driving at 70mph at about 2000 rpms the rpms would jump up about 300 rpms when I would drive at a steady speed, just flat ground. It got worse and more frequent as a month went on, so I then brought to a GM dealership and they decided to do a transmission service (fluid and filter) and inspect what they could, everything "looked good". now since then this issue has been resolved but the transmission slips and slams into gear, when I am in stop and go traffic or hitting a lot of stop lights, engine temp. Does seem to get a little high, even my mechanic thought so. When it slips it feels as if I hit a giant pothole and the engine/transmission is going to fall out. But this problem is so intermittent no one can pin point the problem, I have had three different mechanics look at this issue and one transmission shop. I have all of this and can't seem to resolve the issue, and not to forget to mention since I have owned the car since 2006, it has never shifted smoothly from first to second gear (when I accelerate from a stop light/sign). I like GM, but when this issue is all over the internet and GM hasn't done anything about it, I am starting to second guess my decision on vehicle manufacture.

My mechanic insisted that I needed to change my transmission fluid in order to keep the transmission running efficiently. I believed him and had it done. From that time, my transmission has been slipping from 1st to second gear. Then I was told my car could use a tune up and that would correct the problem? had a tune up in January 2014. The trans does not slip all the time, but when I am in traffic (stop and go) it will slip slightly. I take good care of my vehicles keeping up with the maintenance. I see other complaints very similar to mine and feel that General Motors needs to be responsible for this problem with the transmissions. Now, what does it take to get a response on this situation? the way I feel now is that I will never own a General Motors vehicle if there is no resolution to this problem.

I am adding my transmission failure to this data base. This is a one owner car and driven with care. The transmission failed at appromimately 5 years and at 55,045 miles. This cost $4,343 to replace with a srta transmission so I could get home from vacation. Why is nothing being done about the numerous transmission failure complaints? my car now has 80K miles and I feel as if I am close to losing the transmission again. I have the invoice to back up this claim.

The transmission is slipping as I have seen many others with this same complaint however one dealership says they cant find issue. They drove for only 2 miles. It is a serious issue. Currently at a GM dealership to solve issue. However GM knows about this faulty issue and refuses to issue a recall after many have spent thousands to fix transmissions! I am next this is terrible. What if it completely goes while I have my family in the car" are they then going to fix" GM needs to stand behind the consumer and fix this issue.

The vehicle without warning would not drive forward after coming to a complete stop at a stop light. The engine would rev up but would not go forward. Ended up having to put the transmission in park and turn the car off, then started the car again and put the transmission in drive and the vehicle would drive as if everything was ok until I stopped the next time. I would have to repeat this every time I came to a stop. No error code or transmission sign of a problem.
