I just purchased this vehicle about a month ago and I noticed there was some rust inside of the rear tire-well on the passenger side. Maybe a week ago I noticed that when I would go about 70mph on the freeway I would get a slight wobble on the turns, it wasn't exactly fish tailing but I would feel it and I would begin to slow down to about 55-60mph. During the past few days it got considerably worse and I could only manage curves on the freeway going abt 60mph or less. Today I was headed out and I noticed that my steering wheel was pulling to one side and I was unable to drive more than 40mph without the van losing control. The wobbling has increased 100% and to make matters worse I was leaving a parking lot and I was coming to a stop before merging out into traffic and the van tipped forward and the rear suspension spring popped out and now the rear passenger side tire-well is sitting on the tire.
I put about 1,000 miles on this vehicle since I've purchased it basically driving back and forth to work. I did see the rust but I didn't think it was that bad. The mechanic said that there's always this problem with these vans coming loose from the frame. Is this true and really what should my next move be, because I'm living in Michigan and expecting snow and ice to make matters worse.
