leaking fuel tank

Fuel leaking from tank. Who would engineer a filler tube to go into the bottom of the fuel tank! also the fitting that goes into the tank is not good as it is not sealed well. Should be recalled as this is a fire hazard! New tank is around $400.00 plus labor
