Extremely hard downshifts when slowing down to stop. So severe the tires slid as you come to a stop. This is a 2007, 2.4L 4cyl Pontiac Solstice automatic transmission. Mil lamp is on with a P2637 code set. This is a potentially dangerous situation. All downshifts are harsh when coming to a stop. Upshifts are quick and harsh also.

Transmission locking. Setting dtc codes P2637 and P0700, potential for rear end collision due to lockups on slowing down to a stop. Feels as if car is braking hard with no brake lights being activated to announce that driver is stopping.
