Sunfire

While driving vehicle at moderate speed vehicle accelerated on its own. Ignition switch wouldn't shut off, and emergency brake was ineffective. Vehicle crashed into the rear of a police cruiser to stop. Consumer called 911 for help.

While parking vehicle unexpectedly accelerated and went over a parking barrier and into bushes where the occupant turned off the ignition. Dealer could neither identify nor replicate the problem. Owner did note however, that the cruise control switch was on when the incident occured.
