My 2003 Sunfire makes a weird sound shifting into gear. It doesn't do it all the time, mostly 1st and 2nd gear, will occasionally do it in other gears. But along with the sound, it gives some feedback. On certain days the car shifts fine, I have no idea what could be wrong it. Maybe bad bushings? I don't know.. I had a 2002 Saturn with a similar problem and turned out to be something to do with the "ball 'n joint" beneath the shifter. But what I do know is when I turn the top shifter knob several times to the right, shifting becomes smoother. Any help/advice for this problem would be greatly appreciated!
