I own a 2006 Pontiac Torrent, other than replacing the hub bearings four times I really haven't any other problems till now. As I was driving on a side street I smelled a smoldering rubber smell and all of a sudden my car stopped, luckily I was able to get on the side so others could go around me.

Had to have car towed to a service place and two weeks later they called and said that my wiring harness and fuse box had melted and it would cost fifteen hundred to fix the problem. As of a month later I still am without a car and had to rent a car for a weekend, it's now Monday and hoping to get some word that they have a part and can proceed with the repair...

this was such a pain in the ass. do you know that travelers insurance does not cover electrical failure!!! What a joke I dropped them the same day!!!! I have heard of the equinox having the same issue. gm is investigating. I hope they are more reliable than my insurance!
