Torrent Sport 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 123,031 miles

Just started, park car, go to turn off and key won't turn completely, steering wheel won't lock and car doesn't shut off completely, lights and radio keep playing. Have to keep restarting and turn wheel back and forth, so steering column will lock and I can finally turn key to off and pull key out. Last time had to restart and turn wheel at least four times for it to work!

Torrent 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

EVERYTIME I go to turn off the vehicle and remove the key (either key...I have 2 sets), the ignition won't release the key. I have to turn it on and off several times before I can get the key out. It makes no difference how the steering wheel is turned.

Torrent V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,000 miles

We have had this issue since we purchased the car, initially we thought it was driver error but now I am not so sure. When we stop and put the car in park and turn off the car sometimes the key will not be released and we have to start and shut off several times before we can remove from the ignition. It was only happening occasionally but definately annoying, it seems like it is a faulty part although I have not be able to find any kind of recall issued

Torrent V6

  • Automatic transmission

Intermittently, more often than not, the ignition switch won't release the key after I turn the engine off. I have to sit there for many minutes, jiggling the key back and forth, up and down, any direction that I can go and eventually the key is released. Often I am late for my appointments because of this damn problem. Again, we think this car is a lemon and a piece of doo-doo!
