Vibe 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,002 miles

It's been two years and my 2003 Pontiac Vibe is still sitting in driveway and I have no idea what to do with it. I contacted Pontiac and they say since it is over the millage warranty I have to find my own dealership and pay for the diagnosis to why my problem happened. I was driving home and doing 35 mph when I hear a loud bang and my car just died, we pushed it into a driveway and checked it out and there was a hole in my engine with a piston inside the car and oil was pouring out, I have taken really good care of this and had oil changes every 6 months and there was plenty of oil, the car ran great, no sounds or pinging or nothing, I never ran up the engine power or hot rod.

I am a 51 year old women and babied this car, I called several people and no one can tell me why this would have happened. I can't afford to take it into a dealership and Pontiac says they will not cover the tow or a diagnoses charge to find out why this happened. Recently there is a recall on the SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) could this be the problem is to why? Or could someone please tell me what to do or how this happened, the fuel pump was good, nothing on the car had problems, no lights, on nothing. Please help me, I have no where else to go. juliedearth@sbcglobal.net

This car has been fairly reliable until this problem....now I believe it is totaled due to my mechanic telling me the transmission is also compromised and may need to be replaced.

Vibe 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 149,000 miles

I just paid the last payment and the car blew up and I don't have any money to buy another car. Dealer was absolutely no help and now I'm stuck with a car that I can't fix or drive. I will never ever buy a GM product again.
