Vibe ?

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

If you pay over 20,000 for a car it should be fixed correctly by the dealerships that sell those makes and....the dealerships should be held responsible.

Vibe 1.8L 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

Our Vibe's climate control system suddenly started making a loud clicking noise from behind the dashboard whenever it's in Fresh Air mode -- the clicking is constant and happens even when the fan is off. The culprit is a cheaply-made part called the "acutator." The solution is either to buy a new one (AC-Delco part #15-72794, $33 on Amazon) and have it installed, or do the surgery yourself and simply rotate the broken acutator (supposedly it really is that simple). I haven't tried it yet, but here are some discussions / tutorials: http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=23692 http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=31360 http://www.fixya.com/cars/t1008759-air_recirculation_door http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_flap_motor_and_what_is_it_used_for_2004_pontiac_vibe_clicking_in_dashboard_behind_glove_compartment_and_is_it_a_serious_problem

By the way, this has been a very reliable car otherwise. What a surprise that the one problem to show up in nine years concerns the one part that's actually made by GM, eh?
