I purchased this car 7 years ago with 2000 miles on the clock. I was feeling great that I had paid for the car finance two years ago. It only has 72000 miles on the clock and I was looking forward to a payment free future with this car thinking it would last another 100,000 miles at least.
How wrong was I?
Have just been told (and suspected myself after a lot of research on google re the symptoms) that the dreaded 'bore scoring' issue has arisen, which apparently is a well known issue with this particular model of that era. Funny how the Porsche dealer failed to mention this when he took £53000 of me!
So I now face a £15,000 engine replacement bill and apparently Porsche do not give a damn that this has happened to so many of their customers that bought their product in good faith. How can they get away with this? So, basically its just bad luck that we bought in the wrong year and have to sit back and accept this?
I would like to hear from anyone who has experienced the same problem as I fully intend to fight this, not through the lawyers as that will cost more than the engine repair but via very clever online bad publicity and media exposure to this awful problem that is costing so many innocent people around the world who thought they were buying their dream car.
I have not approached Porsche yet re my problem and I am told that I will be wasting my time - really? Who fancies joining me on a mission?
