09/19/2017 Porsche of lehigh valley (formerly knopf Porsche) fuel smell coming from vehicle. Found left side fuel filter flange leaking. Replaced left side fuel filter flange for $709.04. 12/08/2017 Porsche of lehigh valley car hesitates and bucks, since the fuel odor repair was completed on 09/19/2017 Porsche of lehigh valley replaced left and right side fuel pumps, fuel pressure regulator flange, and transfer lines between 2 fuel pumps for $$879.80. Letter from Porsche cars North America, Inc. 'important safety recall' dated 11/29/2017 received 1 week after Porsche of lehigh valley (formerly knopf Porsche) completed second repair and charged me for a total of $1588.84 so you know that Porsche of lehigh valley (formerly knopf Porsche) knew full well that the recall was underway but just wanted to meet 4Q/ye goals. 02/20/2019 in week seven (7) of (10) ten after weekly calls to script following customer service agents of epiq global (contractor for Porsche cars North America, Inc. Recall processing), who escalate calls upon request to a supervisor from epiq global, only to have a project coordinator call with their personal cell phones and leaving generic messages without a direct call back number. 02/20/2019 now in week seven (7) of (10) ten, I finally picked up a random number of the 3rd project coordinator and discussed how they will only reimburse me for the left side fuel filter flange replacement. 12/27/18 I submitted my claim form and epiq global (contractor for Porsche cars North America, Inc. Recall processing) confirmed receipt on 12/31/2018 reiterating in writing a 4-10 week process. 02/21/2019 18 months after initial repair I receive an email from epiq global confirming they will not reimburse the 09/19/2017 Porsche of lehigh valley replaced left & right side fuel pumps, fuel pressure regulator flange, & transfer lines btwn 2 fuel pumps $879.80

I received a recall letter from Porsche 11/29/17. As of 3/28/18 Porsche still hasn't sent parts to the dealerships to fix this problem. In turn this effects me because the Porsche dealerships will not purchase a call w/ a safety recall. Until this issue is fixed, I cannot sell my car. Porsche is costing me money every day that I am having to wait on this. Thank you.

Strong smell of gasoline evident on driver's side rear when stationary or even not running and parked. Research online with the search criteria of "gasoline smell on driver side rear" produced numerous complaints and questions on this phenomenon. The culprit is the fuel pumps/filters/seals for the two gasoline tanks. They are make from plastic and are prone to cracks or leaks from full tanks. One Porsche parts supplier put it this way on their diy repair page "the question is not if, but when you experience this problem." The solution is to take out the rear seats, cut the carpet, remove the seat belt anchors, remove the cover under the carpet to access the pumps and filter. This is a problem Porsche must know about as they have changed the design of the pump parts.
