The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the hood opened automatically and fractured the windshield. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who advised that the vehicle be taken to a dealer. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V459000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.
