Took my truck to Dodge to have recall items handled. I had noticed a humming in the drive train and asked that it be evaluated. The cost to even diagnose the problem was $134. I could not witness how it was determined but the tech stated on the paperwork that he believed it to be the bearings in the differential and that a rough estimate to fix it would be ~$3000. Here is the kicker, I have never towed anything with this truck nor have I carried heavy loads. I had the truck estimated with out the damage mentioned and it is worth between $8000 - $11000 retail was $28000 plus tax and doc and fees ect. it's 6 years old but hasn't been abused.

I'm really disappointed in the things that have gone wrong with the truck so far. I don't think they are built to last which at the prices they charge for vehicles today, you might expect. I want to find out if this problem is ongoing with this model truck 2012 Ram 1500 w/ 5.7 hemi, automatic transmission.

So if you have a similar problem or know where I might look deeper into this please advise

1500 4.7L

At 22 mph and 1500 rpm the truck makes a grinding/or vibration noise. I am not sure how many

miles were on the truck when I first noticed it, most of the miles on the truck are highway miles

at 70 mph so I don't hear it much and it is hard to get the precise combination of rpm/mph.

Same old story............ got a vibration, dealer feels the vibration and says they fixed it. Go get the truck, on the way home you still feel the vibration, so you bring it back to the dealer and then they blame the tires. So you go get new tires........... vibration is still there, go back to the tire dealer and put on another set of tires... you guessed it... vibration is still there. Go back to the dealer, they then give you a bull sh*t story about it being normal, you tell them it's not so they tell you to leave it and they'll check it out again tomorrow. So thats where I am now. My 8 month old truck drives like sh*t and is at the dealer.... The only thing guaranteed for sure on this truck are the payments, they have to be made.

Bought this truck brand new and on my way home I felt the vibration when the truck was either trying to downshift from 6th to 5th or change from 5th to 6th. It only seems to happen around 49-51mph.

My wife and I purchased a 2012 Dodge Ram Bighorn series. I have discovered a vibration coming from the vehicle around 1100 to 1500 RPM's. I have taken it to the dealer for service twice. The first time I was told they could not duplicate the problem. The second time I had a tech ride with me, and he apparently did not feel the vibration as I explained to him.

I was told there is not much that can be done if they cannot find the problems....I agree with that, BUT there is a problem AND not only in my vehicle. Looking for service reports is not doing the job I need done.

I have a 40K vehicle that has a vibration as well as other vehicles of the same brand. I am looking for answers to correct the problem before the warranties are up.

I also asked about getting someone from the manufacturer in to look at the vehicle, and was told they don't do that anymore... EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED

I have a 2001 caviler with 196000 never had an issue. WE were planning on getting a Dart next year, but if this is how things go with service I believe we will have to go with another brand.

Been reading more about this problem, its more than anything frustrating. How do you sell a NEW vehicle that has obvious vibration problems is beyond me. 30-50mph I get this shutter vibration that not only can you feel but hear. Unacceptable! Dodge needs to fix this and fix it NOW!

1500 4 Door Lonestar 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,100 miles

Truck is brand new, once i got it to 3200 miles, that's when all my nightmares are starting to happen. I have a total list of issues that I'm having with it besides the vibration when i slow down to speed up.

When i'm at 30-35 mph, slowing down, there is an annoying vibration in the truck. feels like the rear end. once i speed up to about 40, it goes away, but then comes back at 60 mph...

I took it to the dealer and they would not allow me to go with them to let the techs feel it. It happens every time..... Of course, they came back and told me it felt normal....Bunch of crap...... I will keep taking it to them until it's fixed before warranty is up.....

Now at 4500 miles, i have a high pitch hum in the front end around the same speeds...
