Where I live we have very narrow roads. While driving the truck just shuts down. There is no power to anything. I put the truck in neutral and it starts right back up. This is very dangerous for me and other drivers. I bought this truck used about 3 years ago with no warranty and I am still paying on it so I can't afford a huge repair bill.

Had the TIPM gremlin attack where the vehicle dies while driving. Had to get towed. The dealer replaced the TIPM. About 4 months later, started having different electrical issues develop. Horn honks, some seat heaters not working, lights not working correctly. Currently only the drivers seat heater works. The interior push button map lights do not work, UNLESS, you turn on the master light switch on dash. The fan relays for the a/c fan will not activate the fan. Check engine light on for the fan not working with ac running. Replaced the fan with new one, still does not work. You can switch the fan leads and it will run constantly, but not with the on demand feature it should have. One day the windows would not roll down. Then after turning the truck off, they miraculously started working again. I have not gone to dealer for fear of price to repair. The TIPM was over $1300.

IN JUNE OF 2017 I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 DOWN SAINT CHARLES ROCK ROAD ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN, MY CHIMES STARTED DINGING AND I LOST ALL POWER TO MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT 3 TO 5 SECONDS. IT CAME BACK ON WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE KEY OR EVEN TAKING MY TRUCK OUT OF DRIVE. A FEW MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS MY RADIO WENT HAYWIRE AND QUIT AND I HAD TO SPEND $300 TO REPLACE RADIO. I TOOK TO SHOP, REPLACED PLUGS, COST $350. THOUGHT THAT WOULD FIX PROBLEM BUT THEN AUGUST 12 WHILE DRIVING TO VISIT MY MOM WITH MY DAUGHTER, DRIVING UP INTERSTATE 55 DOING 75 MPH NEAR ATLANTA ILLINOIS I LOST ALL POWER AGAIN FOR ABOUT 3 TO 5 SECONDS. AGAIN IT FIRED UP ON ITS OWN AND I CONTINUED. ALL WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE TRUCK AND ALSO I FELT LIKE THE OTHERS ON THE ROAD WERE AT RISK. I DECIDED TO TRY TO DRIVE IT BACK, ON THE WAY HOME IT HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES. LOSING POWER BUT COMING BACK ON. WHEN I GOT HOME I PARKED IT AND WHEN I WENT TO START IT, IT JUST CRANKED. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND RECONNECTED IT AND IT STARTED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID TESTS AND ON THE SECOND DAY CALLED TO TELL ME THE TIPM WAS BAD. AND IT WAS REPLACED AT MY COST. NOW I SIT AND WONDER HOW LUCKY I WAS NOT TO HIT ANYONE AFTER LOSING POWER ON 4 OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AND THE FEW THOUSANDS I THREW AT MY TRUCK TO FIND THE FIX. DID THIS CAUSE MY $500 FACTORY RADIO TO SHORT OUT MY LEFT DOOR LOCK THAT DOESN'T WORK. HAVING A TRUCK SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND PUTTING MYSELF AND OTHERS AT RISK ON THE ROAD IS RIDICULOUS AND A FIX NEEDS TO BE FOUND BECAUSE THIS I'M SEEING IT'S HAPPENING MORE OFTEN TO FOLKS WITH THESE FAULTY TIPM COMPUTERS. LIVES ARE AT RISK AND DODGE SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM

SHORTS OUT. IT WAS A HUGE RECALL ON UP TO YR 2010, DEALER PART ONLY SO COSTS A ARM AND A LEG TO FIX DUR TO THE HAVE TO PROGRAM IT. THIS IS A UNSAFE PART, I GOT IT DIAGNOSED AND ITS AN OPEN CIRCUIT. TRUCK LOOSES ALL POWER GOING 75 ON THE FREEWAY, LOOSES ALL POWER JUST COMING TO A STOP. IT WILL THROW ITSELF INTO "6TH" GEAR WHILE IM IN AUTO DRIVING MODE. THIS IS UNSAFE AND CHRYSLER/DODGE NEEDS TO EOTHER RECALL THE PART COMPLETELY OR OFFER A REPLACEMENT FOR NOT A GRAND (INCLUDING LABORE ATR DEALERSHIP)
