The horn only responds when you apply a large amount of pressure to the upper center. Even when you do, it is not an immediate response. It seldom works when you apply pressure to either side where the picture of the horns are seen. This is definitely a safety issue. I brought it to one dealer and he said "YOu GOT TO PUSH ON IT!". The next dealer where I purchased the vehicle took it all apart and said "That's the way it is". I don't believe it!!! It is definitely a POOR design and Dodge needs to correct it. Amazing that a $40,000 vehicle does not have a horn that works properly. I'm not gripping, I'm making a point that it is a SAFETY issue and needs to be dealt with. This is my 1st Dodge truck.
Update from Nov 8, 2013: I decided to call Chrysler direct and they called the dealer. A case manager got back to me and stated the same thing the dealer told me. I then made it a point of a safety issue and the case manager agreed. This case manager was super. She followed through to the very end. The dealership finally ordered a new horn contact mechanism, replaced the original, and now the horn works fine. I just do not know why the service department did not do that in the beginning. It would have saved a lot of time and effort. Anyway....Hats off to Wanda, who did an excellent job with follow-up phone calls to me and the dealership. I'm now a satisfied customer. By the way....They apologized by giving me free synthetic oil changes for 3 years. Thank you!!!
