The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while parked, the radio and instrument panel failed to illuminate as designed. The contact stated that after inserting the ignition key into the ignition switch, the vehicle failed to start; however, the windshield wipers inadvertently activated. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V461000 (Equipment) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 190,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that when starting the vehicle, the information center on the instrument panel flashed brightly. When driving over 50 mph, the light dimmed independently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.
