Lost power steering on my 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7, went to take the truck to Ingram Park Chrysler dealership in San Antonio, Texas for cost estimate just to replace or fix the power steering problem and they gave me an estimate of $14,000.00. Just need to know if there is an easy way to fix this problem.

The electrical power steering goes out at different times. Dodge says they do not make the needed rack and pinion any more. Very dangerous issue that Dodge on multiple vehicles with electric power steering. The cost of replacing can run up to #3,000 plus labor. Dodge should have had a recall on the steering issue with so many vehicles having this issue. Dodge stopped making the electrical power steering in 2017 (I believe) due to so many issues.
