This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ram dealer.
New (for 2013) 8-spd transmission leaking fluid at 4100-mi. Gasket replaced, now, it's leaking again, two days after repair.
Back to dealer, again, for repair tomorrow (7-25-13)
This transmission uses a special "mineral oil" at $46/qt and holds 8-qts. Supposed to be "lifetime" fluid, unless you do a lot of towing, then you need to replace at about 75,000-mi
The transmission bottom plate is also a combination bottom plate and filter, which is "forged carbon-fiber".

October 2015 (about 58000 Km) went to dealership to show oil patch stain under transmission housing (Not the image in this report) dealer said that it was probably from an engine oil change that left a residue on the lower block/transmission.... 2 months later ( 61000 Km) I was changing engine oil and noticed ATF drip (pics attached) in same place as previous oil mark.... took it to dealership. After test drive they established that there was a tranny leak and they would have to investigate. Left vehicle with them... 1 day later they established that the transmission had suffered a SEVERE heat problem...torque converter had turned BLUE...clutches had been trashed... seals had failed due to excessive heat.... valve body also trashed.... (unknown reason..possible manufacturers bad assembly)... total rebuild was necessary with all new components except for gearbox housing!!
Was given a loaner car for the 'off the road' time of my truck (about 10 days) Thank goodness ALL under warranty as the potential bill could have been in the $8000 region!! So far the truck is running ok ....fingers crossed it was a 'one off' case.
