Started the truck one day and heard a loud hissing/grinding type noise, almost like a squealing drive belt. Immediately noticed that the air conditioner was only blowing hot air (it was August in Oklahoma = hot). Pulled over and looked at the air compressor (best view is from under the truck) and saw melted plastic around the front of it on the pulley portion. Dealership replaced the air compressor to fix the issue.

8 heat settings, max 163.5, 1 notch back loose 60 deg 103.5

8 heating settings, full heat 163 degrees F and every turn down 103.5, 91.3, 78.9, 73.0,70.3,65.4 and 55.5 where fan was on 3 speed setting. Brought to dealer twice, first write up was bizzare. Showed Dealer the temps from when left there to when I got home (163 - 55.5 deg F) on paper as the temps stablized the next day. I was rebooked, they compared against 2 other Rams and called their techy fellas said this is normal. Took out a couple Rams at work to compare - WELL, THEY ALL HAD A COMFORT ZONE - you know 2-3 knotch C/H slector and fan speed on 2-3 maintaing heat temp about 73 deg F and not having to crank up fan or change heating mode (defrost and feet, feet, vent,,,etc as was in their write up).

Get a grip and fix the fresh air damper so I (every one) can enjoy comfortable heat with out the extreme heat and cracking open a rear window or playing continusally heat on / heat off (max heat and 1 notch back to max heat again)

Reporting second issue. Got in vehicle and found AC not cooling correctly. I have basic mechanic background and have noticed AC compressor wining at idle. Pretty sure current problem related to expansion valve tied to incorrect freon pressure related to compressor. I'll prob get the old "you were just a little low on freon" spill from the dealer. News flash if I wanted that I would check with the Autozone guy. I want it fixed because it shouldn't have this problem at 12,250 miles and a sticker over $50k. What price does it take to get American built to have quality? This is why American built autos get no global respect. I like Dodge trucks for $50k I could buy any brand. Dodge just fix your quality control and quit going cheap on your parts trying to make an extra buck.
