I AM LOOKING TO SEE HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE JUST DONE THE FIX WITHOUT COMPLAINT. IT IS MY OPINION THAT A RADIO SYSTEM SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 5 YEARS. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO TAKING PRIDE IN ONES PRODUCT. I DEPEND ON NAVIGATION TO GET ME WHERE I'M GOING. AND I EXPECT THE RADIO TO WORK. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PUT OUT 1000 DOLLARS EVERY 5 YEARS TO USE WHAT I ORDERED AS A CONVENIENCE. HAS CHRYSLER LOST ALL PRIDE AND JUST GONE FOR THE BIG BUCKS TOO ??

I bought an update of the Navigation 7 months ago and have had problems with the screen going black and taking about 2 min. to come on. When back on the Nav. is all wrong, it shows a different location from where I am. I'll be traveling South and the system has me way North of where I am. Called HERE where I purchased the product was put on hold and after a long wait was ask to leave a call back number and they will call within 24 hrs. Went on line to chat, typed in my problem and waited for tech to talk to but was timed out and didn't get chance to talk to anyone. Very disappointed not getting any results.

I started getting these problem since last firmware update from UCONNECT, I called several times to uconnect and they transfered to RAM and they said that I have to go to the dealer for a diagnostic. They charge $125 to check what the problem is - the radio sometimes works sometimes doesn't work. But on April 30th I bring my car to the dealer & they said system is bad, I have to change for new one. I called uconnect they offered to change the system at no charge for me, but the dealer says no because my car has a rebuild title. Well I don't understand why I have to pay $1100 for something that they made wrong. I have had my car for 2 years and it worked fine until they sent the update, and uconnect admitted that. I like my car but I'll never buy again from FCA. I've read about too many problems with this system.

UConnect screen would suddenly say "Phone is not operational - see dealer" & none of the built in connections to Customer Care or Connect would work. Dealer #1 said the software needed updating. Problem continued. Dealer #2 says dealer #1 flashed wrong software update & corrupted entire system. Not sure if it's really fixed yet...
Update from Aug 17, 2019: Continuous problems they couldn’t fix & FCA had to buy the truck back.

My uconnect started dropping the connection with my phone, and sometimes when it was connected the connection was so bad you couldn't even talk. Other times it works fine. Very erratic.
I feel this creates a significant safety issue since while driving I start having problems with my phone connection, and I try to disconnect from the system in order to complete the call.
The truck was taken to the dealer and I paid over $200 for a system update, which I was told would fix the problem. On my way home from the dealer I still was having the same problem.
Went back to the dealer next day and was told my radio needed replaced, and that would cost just over $1000 dollars. I insisted on credit for the money already spent to fix the problem, but they pushed back saying they updated the system. I guess they felt I should pay to have a defective radio updated. I was told by the service writer that he would need to talk to his service manager and he would call me the next day. I DID NOT receive a call the next day as promised. The following day I went in person to the dealer, was told they would refund my money but that my Samsung S-4 phone was them problem and replacing the radio would not solve the problem.
This is total BS. I had the phone when I purchased the truck. I bought the truck new less than 18 months ago, and now the uconnect doesn't work and I am told my phone isn't compatible. I have never heard of such crap. I also own a Lexus and a Mercedes and the blue tooth system works fine, and the Lexus is over 10 years old.
I have 48,000 miles on the truck and it is out of warranty, so not real happy about that, but so be it. They still cant fix it. When they considered replacing the radio for over $1000 dollars they were going to warrant it for 2 years. Why doesn't the original radio have the same warranty?
Needless to say, if this isn't fixed this is my last Ram truck, and I will happily tell everyone why.

The GPS in this vehicle is next to useless compared to my 2013 Dart & portable Garmin Nuvi. It wants to send me down gravel town roads when the shortest & best (paved) roads are available. It will start out with correct directions & half way through it decides to take me off the correct route which is frustrating, especially when hauling a show car on a trailer. Dealer seems stumped and I'm not happy!!!!
Update from May 13, 2015: After a year a fighting the service dept. the salesman that sold me the truck solved the problem. Next time I'll talk with the sales dept. Seems like they know more than the service dept.

Drove my beautiful, new 2014 Ram Laramie off the lot and the problems began. First, the steering wheel buttons for phone and voice commands don't work all of the time. Sometimes they do, sometimes I have to hit them 3-5 times to get them to work. The next issue is the back sliding window. The button for that sometimes works, sometimes does not. The dealership thinks this may be unrelated to UConnect issue.
The next day, I'm driving down the road using the NAV system to get me where I'm going. It started out just fine and about halfway to the destination, the voice volume on the NAV system diminished so strongly, I couldn’t hear it. I missed my turn and to pull over, go into settings and put the NAV system volume all the way up to 11 in order to hear it. I had made no other setting changes prior to that and again, it worked fine when starting out. The radio antennas don’t appear to be properly connected. Both Sirius and AM/FM radio cut in and out even though I’m driving the same routes as I did with the previous vehicle (Dodge Durango) and they didn't cut out with that vehicle. A few days later, I got in the truck after it had been parked outside in the sun all day, and noticed the AC wasn’t cooling as well as it had in the past. The display read that the temperature outside was 77, when in fact it was well over 90 outside. Restarted the truck several times and it still read an outside temperature of 77.
The next day, it was fine. Feels like the truck is possessed and I'm not getting a good feeling about this reading the other complaints that their issues are getting resolved...

Uconnect people said would give me $100 credit if I purchased a new radio ($500.00) and returned the old one. Never happened. After I purchased the new one. (My option way overpriced) manufacturer said they wouldn’t give me a credit, so don’t bother to send the old unit back. Never will buy another new vehicle with this unit, unless the car manufacturer gives me a written lifetime warranty.
