1500 Express/tradesmen 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,000 miles

Common issue of the radio not functioning with uconnect and my radio shorted out. Had no functionality with it. This even killed the backup camera. I had to remove the fuse for the radio which is not in a proper location from factory because it drained my battery leaving me stranded and had to get a new battery and jumped off twice. Tired of going to overpriced dealers for issues that could be resolved and more simple that Dodge/Ram has made them.

1500 Big Horn 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 53,000 miles

I have 53000 miles on the truck. The screen with the radio, heater, navigation and u connect failed to come on. Message telling me the head unit was defective. Dealer tells me the radio is bad and needs replaced. They don't stock radios in their parts department and it will take 3-4 days to get a new one. I asked why so long to get the radio. Why can't they use next day or 2 day shipping. Person was not able to tell me.

1500 St Quad Cab 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,556 miles

2014 RAM 1500 QUAD CAB, 2WD, 3.6L, AUTO. I have never had this kind of problem with a RAM product, but on 11/2/2015, I called RAM Corporation and told them I am ready to push truck off cliff. The local dealer is a joke to say the least the name is SUNCOAST JEEP AND RAM in Largo FL. The complaints I have had with them go on and on eg: leaving off the wheel locking nuts and nitrus tire cap (found that after I had jumped in the truck right out of dealer for service and drove 2900 miles straight! and the list goes on. The current reoccurring problem is with the radio.as follows 1) March 2015 radio broke was at dealer for oil chg, showed him and he agreed it would not come on, need tech to look at bring back 2) RETURNED next day for tech to ck out radio..."oh it does not work that way you need appointment" rtn in 3 weeks 3) 3 weeks later tech trouble shot radio took 20 minutes called to service bay "your radio is broke" "we have to order one" " come back in 2 weeks 4) ONLY 10 days went by received a call to come in for radio 5) LEFT truck and went home 2 hours later rec call truck is ready. Back to dealer "sorry your truck is not ready you will have to come back in 2 weeks with it they shipped the wrong radio" My response was "if it has more features than mine now we can work out something and i will pay the difference. RESPONSE FROM DEALER "sorry we can't do that plus we would have to change the entire face plate (yea right a 1 1/2 din is still a 1 1/2 din in the RAM package they just did not want to install it 6) JULY 2015 Radio again out of service (same problems) DEALER "Oh we know what that is there is an eprom that has a reconfig on it. 7) AS of 11/2/15 same problem as always won't change channels and when it does it goes where it wants and then the music does not match the channel (unless SERIUS is playing Ozzie on the NFL station now?) tried to hand tune radio channels ok up to 25 then jumps to 35 goes to 39 then jumps back to anywhere it wants. EG channel 35 next channel 8 then 8 goes to 145 and bounces back to 39 - you get the idea, 8) would be nice if the channel that is playing (eg: 60's on 6) said that usually now get the music on what ever channel radio decides eg: 60's on 6 will be playing and the dial will show CNN news on the screen. I won't even get into the radio never being able to tell you what song is playing. At 61 years old I think I can tell the difference from OZZIE'S junkyard (what the screen says) and Elvis - which is playing. I think I have been more than fair at this point, 1 ting is for sure I will never step into that dealers show room or service center again- this was the 4th vehicle and last that I will purchase there. FYI for fun I was sold a "AUTO BUTLER" contract which is a detail program every 6 months. The last time there it looked like a high school car wash was done. This time I had to drive 45 miles (over 1 hour) from my home to a FORD dealer to get it done...looked like it just rolled off showroom floor AND I did not have to pay a deductible like at the RAM dealer!
