problem #1

1500 Outdoorsmen V6 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,243 miles

Vehicle was brand new and within a month the problem started happening sporadically. The new rotary knob selector would move to Drive but then the console would flash and would read ''Shift to P then desired Gear.'' A check engine light would come one but clear itself within a day if the problem didn't happen again. Sometimes it would only take 5 times of shifting back and forth to figure itself out, but other times it would take upwards of 10-20 minutes for it to move into gear. In the end it needed a brand new transmission. Not the ideal situation for a $40,000 brand new truck.

After talking to the Dodge tech it sounds like this is a common problem and will be causing a lot of people in sub zero environments a lot of headaches. I was 3 weeks without my vehicle and had to deal with Chrysler Canada threatening to not pay the km's for my rental. Needless to say I put in a complaint with Chrysler Canada, which they haven't responded to or replied to my phone calls. Words can't describe the buyers remorse that I have or how unimpressed I am with Dodge.

Would not recommend these trucks to anyone.
