have been searching for valid part for repair. Dealers state part discontinued. Today, incident where I braked heavily, almost lost control of my vehicle. Swerved and prevented accident. Safety issue and dangerous situation that may not be avoided next time. Sadly, feel dealer or manufacturer must be held responsible for lack of part or failure to provide updated part for purchase.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, and the contact lost control of the vehicle with the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 50 MPH in the rain and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to respond as needed and spun. The ABS warning light, the traction control warning light, the brake warning light, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's wife was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available to repair the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that the ABS module was under engineering review. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 220,100. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS system and air suspension computer warning light illuminated and failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with ABS computer module failure and air suspension system failure. The air suspension system was repaired; however, the ABS computer module was not replaced due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that parts were not available. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

The contact owned a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the ABS engaged unintendedly, and the front driver's side wheel locked up. The brake light was illuminated. The vehicle then spun into another lane, with the front end of the vehicle facing incoming traffic. Another vehicle then crashed into the front passenger's side end of the vehicle. The contact was knocked unconscious. The air bags deployed. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency unit. The contact was informed that he had sustained a fractured vertebrae on the neck, a torn right shoulder, a fractured rib, dislocation of the rib cage on the right side, severe pain from the neck to the back, and bruises. The other driver sustained injuries, was assisted out of the vehicle by emergency units, and transported to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 275,000.
