This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ram dealer.
4wd and traction control functions are erratic. While driving along, the 4wd switch lights will go out and I lose function of the switch. I was up north and could not get out of 4wd and drove 250km before it disengaged. I have got stuck several times because the 4wd will not engage.
Dealer said to replace traction control and 4wd switches, did not fix the issue.
No codes present to repair the issue, checked/cleaned/dielectric grease on transfer case and 4wd actuator wiring.
I suspect it could be a faulty TIPM, based on reading so many issues with them.
4wd should be manual shift or back to a Silverado for the next truck for sure.

Trying to hit the off road trails with my buddies and my new Ram fails before I even got to the first trail...ruined my whole weekend... Ram, maybe I should've got a Ford, sorry to say...

The only time I need 4 wheel drive because it snowed out it doesn't work. I tried 4 auto, 4 lock and 4 low lock. It worked sometimes for a short period 1-2 minutes then it would kick back into 2 wheel drive. If I turn the truck off it will work for a couple more minutes. Not good when you're stuck in the middle of an intersection on a highway.
