Our '14 Ram 1500 was bought new on 6/22/15. On 8/9/15 our new 2014 Dodge Ram was parked on a incline in a friends driveway. My wife and son got in the truck, started it and put it into reverse to leave. After moving only a few feet my wife noticed the hostess coming down the drive to say goodbye. She placed the truck in park, got out of the vehicle leaving the door open and walked to the front of the truck. While giving the hostess a hug, hostess exclaimed your truck is rolling away. My wife tried to run back and around the door to get in the vehicle. Before she could, the open door took down two mailboxes and 4X4 timber posts they were mounted on and opened the door beyond the spring limit pushing into the front fender and popping out the front head light. The truck rolled across the street into the neighbors yard hitting a power poll where it came to stop. The impact to the poll was strong enough to pull down power lines. Upon reaching the vehicle a male guest noted the vehicle was still in park. My 9 year old was still strapped into his seat belt and significantly shaken up though not injured. The police and utility company arrived. The officer wrote his report up as vehicle malfunction. The tow truck operator said the vehicle could be driven in its condition. He pulled back the door to as close to closed as possible and tied closed. The rear bumper and tailgate are trashed. Insurance adjuster has given preliminary estimate of $8,900. The power company has not contacted us yet about their service call. I guess very fortunate that my wife did not make it around the door as she could have been crushed between the door and two mailboxes. Also thankful the the truck went straight across the street rather than turning and going down a long hill. Have contacted Ram and was promised an investigator would be in touch within 3 days. 4th day and still no contact!

I have had 16 incidents with my 2014 Ram 1500, VIN# [xxx]. equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. When I slowed down for a stop to turn right, the transmission went into neutral and the truck coasted down to a stop. The transmission knob would not shift out of drive and the transmission stayed in neutral. When I stopped and turned off motor, I could turn transmission shifter to park, start truck and shift into drive. This happened about 5 weeks apart. Both times I was on a city street and it was not a traffic problem. Current mileage 7455. I called my dealer and he said he had not heard of this problem, and said if it happened again to have to towed to him. I live 150 miles from him. My closest dealer is 60 miles. This is still happening almost monthly. I have dates and times I can send. Don't have room in this form for complete complaint information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Have a 2014 Ram 1500 black express with 8 speed transmission. The truck downshifts very hard when slowing and seems to hesitate before upshifting randomly. The transmission also makes a grinding noise at idle and a metallic clank on acceleration. The dealer told me this was normal. That's funny because it went 9000 miles without doing it. I have contacted Chrysler care to no effect and the dealer wont even look at the tranny until it throws codes. I am so mad.

While coming to a stop; traffic light, stop sign, etc. I can feel a hard jerk. I believe it's the transmission shifting to a lower gear but I'm not for certain. The hard jerk doesn't happen too often maybe once a day, but when it does it's very noticeable. I'm concerned this is causing additional stress and fatigue to my transmission and something will either snap or break.

On 13 may I was coming to a metered light when a lane splitter caused me to hard brake to avoid the splitter. My truck, with no prompting from me shut off. I was nearly rear ended by a semi behind me. On 6 June I was coming to a light and nearly stopped and my truck shut off. On 7 July I was coming to a stop at a stop light and my truck shut off. Each time this happens the truck turns off, the turn dial flashes "P" (as it is currently in D). I put the truck in P, turn the ignition back on, place turn dial into D and drive. Each time carl burger Dodge says that my truck doesnt "code" and they cant recreate the issue. I provided them with video's of what happens that I found on youtube and thats when they started a "star" case with Chrysler main. My Chrysler customer care assistance admits there is an issue saying "the tech's are working on it" but then says the best they can do is "give me 3 free years of oil changes". I am a disabled veteran and I have reached lemon law status but carl burger is not doing anything and Chrysler says its carl burgers responsibility to take my truck back but carl burger says its Chrysler. This truck is going to get me killed. There is another reported case in chula vista, ca and Chrysler also gave them 3 free years of oil changes just like they did with me. Your recall didnt include this year/make and model and it cant just be my truck, there is a Dodge forumn that has this issue on the entire thread but since no customers vehicles "code" Chrysler is keeping this quiet, I think they really have no idea what it is. Carl burger says they cant keep taking my truck apart but "we believe you". please look into this.

I have owned this truck for a month and a half and now it is slamming into gear between 2nd and 3rd gear. At 30 mph. And then it downshifts very hard when slowing! this is a nightmare. It is also vibrating on the highway and it feels like something is going on with the front end. I am bringing it back to the dealer but im sure I will get the same answer as everyone else. That there is no solution for this problem but they know about it. There is a thread for this issue. This truck was not cheap and I had a 93 Ford that didn't do this stuff. This is not right and the more I read online this is a ongoing issue and the dealership can not fix it. So are we just suppose to drive around these 30K plus trucks with this issue. The more I look into it this is only one of the issues but I wanted to list my complaint and will also do so to anyone who will listen. Wish I never bought this truck!!!!! they need to come up with a solution because this is unacceptable.

The Ram ecodiesel 3.0L truck had a check engine light that came on while driving, showing a P20ee error, requiring the replacement of the diesel exhaust selective catalytic reduction (scr) at under 27,000mi the dealership I dealt with was great in getting it fixed, but I am concerned the new exhaust scr that was installed won't last the life of the vehicle if the first one only lasted a little over 26,000mi unless they made a change and/or updated the part that was installed on my truck. I'm hoping the replaced part was updated by Ram and the cause of this error corrected, but I have not been given this information at this time.

After pulling into my drive way with my adult son in the passenger seat I was rolling up to the garage with my foot on the brake pedal slowing down the truck. I stopped the truck completely, by pushing on the brake pedal harder, about 5 feet from the house. I reached down to rotate the shift dial to park, "P". after turning to "P" the truck engine started revving and the truck lurched forward, after initially being startled I looked down and saw the shift dial was at "P" and the engine was still revving. The truck then struck the corner of the house while I was almost standing up on the brake pedal trying to get it to stop. I turned the shift dial to reverse and back to park and the truck stopped revving and moving. Then I backed away from the house. Being a retired police detective the first thing I did was to check to see if the factory floor mat had dislodged and jammed into the pedals but it was properly hooked in place. After getting the trucks body damage repaired I had it towed to the dealer but they could find nothing wrong with the truck. I did notice that when I picked the truck up from the dealer there was a clicking sound under the dash when I rotated the shift dial from "R" to "P" that I do not recall hearing before. No clicking is heard when changing between any other gears.

December 16, 2014 check engine light came on. I took it to dealer and they said it was O2 sensor. They reset it and told me to blow 3.0 diesel engine out. Check engine light came back on as well as a message that def fluid was wrong. I called dealer and they said bring it back in. Dealer called me back and said I needed new catalytic converter but it was on back order and they couldn't give me a date. Dealer told me truck was ok to drive. December 24, 2014 a warning message came up on truck that said truck would cut off in 190 miles and would not re start. Dealer now has truck and still can't give me a date on when it will be fixed. They did tell me that there were 82 other trucks in the system like mine. There is an issue with the 3.0 ecodiesel engine and Chrysler has no fix or won't tell anyone what is happening.

On the afore mentioned date, I was operating vehicle on a 2 lane highway. When I attempted to pass a slower vehicle the transmission froze/locked into a lower gear, not allowing me to complete the pass of the other vehicle and there by forcing me to brake heavily to avoid a head on collision. I then returned the truck to the dealer whom I had just purchased from. As of this writing' they have neither found or corrected this issue.

Me and my wife bought a new 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi sport truck we have had this new truck for about five weeks now. And was at walmart on Monday 11/24/2014 in mcminnville tn. We had just gotten back into the truck and started the truck. After starting the truck I turned the shifter knob dial on the dash into reverse. Then I noticed that the backup camera didn't come on. The radio screen stayed on. So I wiggled the dial and put it back into park. And let off the brake and put it into drive and pulled back into the parking space. Then shut the truck off. I then waited ten minutes before I restarted this truck. Turned the shifter knob again into R-reverse, backup camers did not come on again. But was to start backing out of the parking space. After backing out about 4 to 5 feet, the camera came on as I was turning the dial fronr to N then to D. I am going to take the truck back to the dealers after thanksgiving and let them figure it out. If they can and I am going to contact thr Dodge/ chyrsler factory before someone gets run over, thinking the truck is in park but is still in reverse.

In mcminnville we had just gotten back into the truck and started the truck. After starting the truck I turn the shifter knob dial on the dash into reverse. Then I noticed that the backup camera didn't come on. The radio screen stayed on. So I wiggled the dial and put it back into park. Shut the truck off. Then waited for ten minutes. Before I restarted this truck. Turned the shifter knob again into R for reverse. Backup camera did not come on again. I am going to take the truck back to the dealers after thanksgiving and let them figure it out. If they can't then they can give me my truck that I traded in on it. Or I will have my attorney involved in it from that point on. P.S. I am going to contact the Dodge/Chrysler factory head quarters about this problem before somebody get run over. Thinking that the truck is in park and is in reverse.
