Parking sensors go off with nothing in front, when wet. There was a star class on this. They exchanged the sensors left to right. The issue followed the sensors. Dealer wants to have the vehicle when the issue occurs, as they can not replicate in shop. When it happens, I can't get to shop. Has been in shop multiple times. Now vehicle is out of regular warranty, but still issue has not been resolved.

On 11/22/17 at around 5pm driving East bound on I-76 in Pennsylvania our 2014 Ram 1500 ecodiesel engine caught on fire. As I tried to stop I realized I had no brakes. We slowed to a stop as we started up a hill, I put it in park and we all got out just in time. A certified Chrysler mechanic had just 2 days earlier finished installing a new engine. Both the dealership & Chrysler have denied all ownership and no root cause evaluation has been completed. I believe a fuel line failed due to faulty workmanship, but without a third party independent investigation I guess we will never know and some other customer may experience the same thing.

Vehicle recently passed 3yr/36K warranty. Check engine light and "fuel level sensor" failure code intermittently flash on and off again. When active, I lose all fuel gauge fuel level indication. I note that there are other NHTSA complaints about this and see many online forum discussions abut this. The fuel sensor failure comes on and off while driving the vehicle. The warning is distracting to normal driving, as it takes your attention off the road to check and see what has happened to the vehicle, not knowing if this is a new failure, a tire pressure issue, or something else. I would like NHTSA to look and see if this is a broader issue that needs a recall / manufacturer repair.

While driving on highway check engine light came on. Smelled burning, another car pulled along side and yelled "you are on fire" after stopping the truck I was able to extinguish the flames under the engine by applying dry powder fire extingisher into the open hood. Later investigation by a chrylser hired investigator indicated the starter cable short circuited to a sharp bracket attached to the frame causing the electrical harness to catch fire. In my opinion chrylser is dragging their feet in authorizing a warranty repair

Vehicle panel lights staying on without key in vehicle draining battery. Has been to dealer 4 times for same issue. Today, vehicle would not accelerate over 13 mph, after pulling out onto main street from home. Was able to turn around & return home safely, now vehicle at dealer for 5th time for this new issue plus dead battery from panel lights.

Driving along at highway speeds, the "throttle control sensor" light comes on for a quick second, then goes off, and "enginge light" goes on. Withing seconds, the truck loses power, giving you little to no time to prepare and react. It has happened in L.a. on frwy with loads of traffic, it's so dangerous trying to get over to the side without being killed! it has happened 2 tiimes while in tow mode pulling trailers, again so dangerous when suddenly you have no power. Once while pulling horses in the trailer, on an up-hill, with cars behind me and no where to pull over (no shoulder). So unsafe, I was badly shaken over that one with my horses in tow. So this has happened 4 times to us, Dodge has had in shop 4 times and cannot fix. It is terrifing to be going along and have your power cut in a moments time, and be in "limp mode". we can no longer trust this truck. So dangerous

My trucks 'service electronic throttle control' light (lightning bolt) comes on both when starting my vehicle and when driving my vehicle. When it comes on when I try to start the truck, it wont change out of the gear it is in (ie I cant go faster than 15-18mph). It sometimes goes off if I turn the engine on and off multiple times. The more dangerous timing of it is when the light comes on while I'm driving.this either causes me to downshift into a lower gear which throws me forward and revs the engine in excess of 3000rpm, or while I am stopped, the rpms climb without any foot on the accelerator. If I take my foot off the brake while this happens, I accelerate forward either up to 18mph or 30mph depending which gear it is 'stuck' in. I have taken it to one local Ram dealer 6 times reporting the same issue. The did flash updates, replaced accelerator pedal sensor, brake sensor, repaired connector for the accelerator pedal sensor, and replaced throttle body (all of which at the time, they said each individual component was the root of the problem). I have taken it to another local Ram dealer, and they attempted to fix it with 4 and a half hours of diagnostic time. They replaced the throttle body and replaced a cable/connector and low and behold, the problem still exists. This is very dangerous for so, so many reasons. I note that not only the check engine light have come on, but the traction control light, ABS light, service 4WD light, ! temp light, check brake light, and of course the service electronic throttle control light.

Shifter knob has slipped or changed gears while moving or standing idle. Other times it will not shift into any gear ie: Reverse. Also dash lights flicker at times, and at times will not turn off parking lights killing the battery. This has happened several times over the past 2 months.

Tipm (totally integrated power module) failure. Dealership fails to honor vehicle warranty and is not replacing the defective part under full bumper warranty. This 1 part causes many issues to the entire vehicle and major road safety issues. I have tried many attempts with dealer and manufacturer directly to have this warranty part repaired and they fail to honor such repairs. I see online that this exact part has many known issues and problems for many similar people. This 1 part affects all problems above because all these parts are electrically controlled.

On May 24, 2017, while drive at a speed of 65 mph westbound on interstate 84 in middlebury, ct, our 2014 Ram 1500 completely shutdown. No warning lights flashed and we were left with no power. By the grace of god we were able to coast through two lanes of high speed traffic to the right shoulder of the road. The key would not turn the truck back on. Ct state police (officer rivera) was called to the scene. The truck sat for approx. 45 minutes and then we tried the extra key we were carrying. The second key turned the truck back on and we proceeded home. Once home we tried the first key and it also now worked. We took the truck to the Ram dealership (franklin sussex automall, sussex NJ) and they could not find a problem. This was a life threatening experience and felt it should be reported.

Stopped for gas then drove 100 feet to store. Ten minutes later truck had no electrical power, had to use key to open door. Entire system shut down. Had vehicle towed to Dodge dealer they diagnosed bad winn ignition module truck only had 38,000 miles on it. Same thing happened at 35,600 miles and dealership replaced battery and alternator. This problem can happen at anytime even when driving according to other remarks. I told service tech that a couple times a week the key will not engage on first try but then will start vehicle and this has been happening for months. He said that is an indication of the module going bad. I wish I would have know at 36,000 miles or less. I will submit repair orders to Dodge to be reimbursed (lol).

I have had multiple check engine lights come on stating that there was high voltage on the fuel sensor as well as had my fuel gauge stop working and my cluster read fuel sensor fail. The dealership said it was a dead spot in the fuel level sensor and the pump had to be replaced but won't cover it under warranty. This happens now every time my fuel gauge gets to 1/2 a tank and goes off when I get under a 1/4 tank

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact experienced electrical failures while driving or starting the vehicle intermittently. The contact stated that the vehicle had no trailer brake, traction control, or center console functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radio caused the electrical short and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The radio was replaced five times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

All of the following in this review happens at all times. When in motion, stationary, all driving conditions and all times of day and night. Overhead console on truck where led courtesy map/reading lights have issues. Light flickers and dims when on. It makes interior visibility near impossible. Upon inspecting the unit the wiring going to the lights and sun room are chaffed and pose as a fire hazard and or equipment failure if shortage occurs. Rear third brake light seal deteriorates and lets water into the cab. This can rust out flooring and causes mold issues. Ruins leather seats. Also can deteriorate seat belts possibly as well as rust or cause weakness in seatbelts for rear passengers. Will severely damage and/or stain interior roofing, carpet, seat belts and/or seats.
