Shifter knob has slipped or changed gears while moving or standing idle. Other times it will not shift into any gear ie: Reverse. Also dash lights flicker at times, and at times will not turn off parking lights killing the battery. This has happened several times over the past 2 months.

Tipm (totally integrated power module) failure. Dealership fails to honor vehicle warranty and is not replacing the defective part under full bumper warranty. This 1 part causes many issues to the entire vehicle and major road safety issues. I have tried many attempts with dealer and manufacturer directly to have this warranty part repaired and they fail to honor such repairs. I see online that this exact part has many known issues and problems for many similar people. This 1 part affects all problems above because all these parts are electrically controlled.

On May 24, 2017, while drive at a speed of 65 mph westbound on interstate 84 in middlebury, ct, our 2014 Ram 1500 completely shutdown. No warning lights flashed and we were left with no power. By the grace of god we were able to coast through two lanes of high speed traffic to the right shoulder of the road. The key would not turn the truck back on. Ct state police (officer rivera) was called to the scene. The truck sat for approx. 45 minutes and then we tried the extra key we were carrying. The second key turned the truck back on and we proceeded home. Once home we tried the first key and it also now worked. We took the truck to the Ram dealership (franklin sussex automall, sussex NJ) and they could not find a problem. This was a life threatening experience and felt it should be reported.

Stopped for gas then drove 100 feet to store. Ten minutes later truck had no electrical power, had to use key to open door. Entire system shut down. Had vehicle towed to Dodge dealer they diagnosed bad winn ignition module truck only had 38,000 miles on it. Same thing happened at 35,600 miles and dealership replaced battery and alternator. This problem can happen at anytime even when driving according to other remarks. I told service tech that a couple times a week the key will not engage on first try but then will start vehicle and this has been happening for months. He said that is an indication of the module going bad. I wish I would have know at 36,000 miles or less. I will submit repair orders to Dodge to be reimbursed (lol).

I have had multiple check engine lights come on stating that there was high voltage on the fuel sensor as well as had my fuel gauge stop working and my cluster read fuel sensor fail. The dealership said it was a dead spot in the fuel level sensor and the pump had to be replaced but won't cover it under warranty. This happens now every time my fuel gauge gets to 1/2 a tank and goes off when I get under a 1/4 tank

All of the following in this review happens at all times. When in motion, stationary, all driving conditions and all times of day and night. Overhead console on truck where led courtesy map/reading lights have issues. Light flickers and dims when on. It makes interior visibility near impossible. Upon inspecting the unit the wiring going to the lights and sun room are chaffed and pose as a fire hazard and or equipment failure if shortage occurs. Rear third brake light seal deteriorates and lets water into the cab. This can rust out flooring and causes mold issues. Ruins leather seats. Also can deteriorate seat belts possibly as well as rust or cause weakness in seatbelts for rear passengers. Will severely damage and/or stain interior roofing, carpet, seat belts and/or seats.

I had a big rain storm about 3 weeks ago that brought around 8 inches of rain into my area. There was a factory defect with the third brake light and satellite radio antenna seals that aloud water to enter the cab of the truck. Everything in the cab of the truck was soaked. I had 6 inches on standing water in the compartments. When I drove the truck after 3 days of raining water began to pour out from the headliner onto the dashboard. Dodge refused to do anything with the Ram because it was 700 miles out of the warranty. A week after the storm, I started the Ram to warm up one morning and when I went to get in the truck every warning light was on, it was beeping, I could to shift it into gear nor could I turn the truck off. Once I stepped out of the truck it locked the doors with the truck still running and I could not unlock the doors for an hour later. Usaa has total my Ram out but Chrysler has not taken responsibility for this issue. After researching online the leak is a huge problem dating back to 2004.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster and computer failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. Updated 02/14/17

I've owned 4 Chrysler/Dodge vehicles 98 avenger, 99 Ram 1500, 03 300 M and now 2014 Ram 1500 which everyone has had electrical issues. I have not put money into my new truck yet but have put thousands into other vehicles before I sold them for less than blue book just to be rid of all the issues. I bought my currant truck new in June 2014, I first began noticing glitches late summer 2015 and now there are electric surges, fault indicators that are fine and lights will not shut off killing my battery. I bought new this time assuming I would eliminate these issues but I was wrong, my truck has had no accidents of any sort and yet I have a $35,000 truck that's unreliable as well as unsafe. Durning my research Chrysler has been aware of this issue for decades and should be responsible for their lack of safety concerns for their customers. Very disheartening as well as frustrating

I started the truck and noticed that the controls on the steering wheel for the radio and blue tooth did not work. I also noticed that the horn did not work. I can not scroll through the information center to check the tire pressure, speed, oil life or any other items in the information center. I also do not know if this issue affects the air bag being able to deploy. I can not reset the oil life after I change the oil.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V517000 (electrical system, engine and engine cooling). The part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times and stated that the part was available. When the contact arrived at the dealer for the repair, she was informed that the part was not available for the vehicle to be repaired. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

When driving the vehicle, the headlights blink (as if you are on a bumpy road). Took to mack grubbs/columbia, ms for a recall issue and had them to look at lights. They told me they see that in a lot of those model trucks. I picked up my truck from the recall repair and was informed I owed $40 for diagnosis of the head light issue and that it would be $180 plus tax and labor to repair the passenger side and the same to repair the driver side. That is was a wiring harness issue. The service man told me and my husband that the is very common in the Ram trucks. 1) that should mean a recall. 2) our truck was in our possession exactly 2 years, 1 day when we dropped it off for the recall issue to be fixed (which was about a week after I had them to diagnos the check engine/lights and was told of a recall and set up the appt). 3) we purchased an electrical insurance at time of vehicle purchase. I do not reccommend this vehicle to anyone! the lights blinking on/off as you are driving makes oncoming traffic blink their lights or think you are trying to stop them. Not safe at all.
