There is a 1 to 2 second lag when pressing the horn button and when the horn actually sounds. With the lag, it is nearly impossible to sound the horn immediately when someone is encroaching into your lane or any other time when the horn needs to be sounded to prevent an accident.

Transmission will shift into neutral when slowing down to turn or stop. Necessary to turn off engine start and put into gear. This has happened 18 times to date. I have a 4 page document detailing each time, place, and occurance. If I had an address to sent to. I am in a small town so have nor has any traffic problems but if I go to a large city this would be bad to stop and restart vehicle in heavy traffic. Have had to dealers twice. First one told me they could not find anything. And second dealer after keeping my vehicle 3 days said he did not have time to look at it. Ntsb # 10748878

Since this truck was new there has been an intermittent issue with the control panel going dead, or losing power. This panel includes the ability to change the truck into various 4X4 settings as well as the panel that controls many other functions such as the heated/cooled seats, air ride suspension etc. Sometimes the turning off the truck and then restarting it clears the issue, other times it does nothing. There are other people with the same issue. www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?T=179332&highlight=control+panel this is a safety issue due to not being able to engage or disengage 4X4 when needed as well as being very distracting to the driver.

While no accident has occurred, in my opinion this is a significant safety issue. The uconnect system either becomes disconnected or has a poor reception while driving. It is very inconsistent in the way it performs. It creates a safety problem because when this occurs you naturally attempt to either reconnect or disconnect from the system creating a significant distraction. Attempts by the dealer to fix the problem have been unsuccessful.

I have had 16 incidents with my 2014 Ram 1500, VIN# [xxx]. equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. When I slowed down for a stop to turn right, the transmission went into neutral and the truck coasted down to a stop. The transmission knob would not shift out of drive and the transmission stayed in neutral. When I stopped and turned off motor, I could turn transmission shifter to park, start truck and shift into drive. This happened about 5 weeks apart. Both times I was on a city street and it was not a traffic problem. Current mileage 7455. I called my dealer and he said he had not heard of this problem, and said if it happened again to have to towed to him. I live 150 miles from him. My closest dealer is 60 miles. This is still happening almost monthly. I have dates and times I can send. Don't have room in this form for complete complaint information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

On 12/13/2014, I purchased a new, 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 in san antonio, Texas. On 01/23/2015, after accumulating 1000 miles on the odometer, I triggered the key fob to unlock the vehicle only to have the entire electrical system fail. I could not start the vehicle no matter what I tried. I notified Dodge and had the vehicle towed to the dealership on 01/24/2015. After several visits to the dealership and numerous telephone calls, I could not receive any definitive answer as to what was being diagnosed or done to fix the problem. Eventually, I had to open a case file through Dodge customer service. They too, were met with the same uncertainty and could not provide any additional information. After 40 days in maintenance and a great deal of acquired stress, the vehicle was finally returned in working order. The cause ? a faulty, total integrated power module (tipm). Upon further investigation of this unit I have come to find that (1) Chrysler is aware of this issue, (2) there is a national backorder for tipm?S stretching months, and (3) legal action is pending. Due to the circumstances that I had to endure, I no longer want this truck, nor do I trust its integrity. Although the system failed at my home, it could have very well happened on the road and caused "who knows what". I am done with this vehicle.

After pulling into my drive way with my adult son in the passenger seat I was rolling up to the garage with my foot on the brake pedal slowing down the truck. I stopped the truck completely, by pushing on the brake pedal harder, about 5 feet from the house. I reached down to rotate the shift dial to park, "P". after turning to "P" the truck engine started revving and the truck lurched forward, after initially being startled I looked down and saw the shift dial was at "P" and the engine was still revving. The truck then struck the corner of the house while I was almost standing up on the brake pedal trying to get it to stop. I turned the shift dial to reverse and back to park and the truck stopped revving and moving. Then I backed away from the house. Being a retired police detective the first thing I did was to check to see if the factory floor mat had dislodged and jammed into the pedals but it was properly hooked in place. After getting the trucks body damage repaired I had it towed to the dealer but they could find nothing wrong with the truck. I did notice that when I picked the truck up from the dealer there was a clicking sound under the dash when I rotated the shift dial from "R" to "P" that I do not recall hearing before. No clicking is heard when changing between any other gears.

With around 14000 miles on my truck I was driving home and was alerted that my front left blinker was burnt out, moments later I was notified that my right front blinker was burnt out. A few miles down the interstate from that I was notified that my right fog light had burnt out. I was going to take my truck in the next day (Monday morning). Before heading to the dealership I inspected my front lights to find that my front driver's side headlight was out also. I waited until the sun came up and prior to heading to the dealership I checked the lights again. All were working so I didn't take my truck to the dealership (Monday mid-morning). Tuesday morning the cycle repeated itself getting notified first of the left front blinker, then the right front blinker, then the fog light. I saw no reflection from the tail light blinker as well. My truck is currently at the dealership getting checked.

The 2014 Ram 1500 sport I bought has had repeated dash and interior lighting problems. The dash lights randomly flicker or don't turn on at all. On some occasions no interior lights at all would work. The truck has been back to the dealership three times but still hasn't been repaired. The dealership has done software updates, re-grounded the electrical system and replaced the body control module without fixing the problem. In addition the remote start sometimes does not start the truck it locks the doors instead, the dealership has been unable to find a solution. I feel that the dial used to select the drive gear is a potential safety hazard. The dial is a similar size and shape as the comfort and radio controls and placed right next to other dash knobs. I believe that a driver could intend to change the radio station or turn the fan down but inadvertently take the truck out of gear. Overall this truck has serious electrical flaws and the possibility of being knocked out of gear while driving. The vehicle is not safe in my opinion.

Check engine light came on. That was 9/24/14. The check engine light has been through a myriad of "fixes". it is now 02/03/15 (5 1/2 months) - the check engine light is still on and the dealership has it in for "repair". the warranty requires that the vehicle not be driven when the check engine light is on, thus denying us of the regular use of the vehicle, which is critical in our cattle operation. I just bought myself a brand new 2014 Ram 1500 in November 2014 and today on January 05 2015 I get in the truck to go to lunch and the check engine light comes on and the external temp. Gauge reads the it is -40 degrees which is impossible considering I live in South Georgia, also my odometer reading is blank and my front windows wont go down. The truck only has 1,922 miles on it and all of this happened at the same time.
