VB1 recall is happening to my truck and still unknown solution and parts aren't available. Is the truck ok to drive, will it be on fire? bulletproof diesel looks like a great option.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving various speeds, the engine misfired and caused the vehicle to idle roughly, shudder, and exhibit poor acceleration. The vehicle was taken to lithia Dodge Jeep (5001 grizzly ct, missoula, mt) where it was diagnosed that the engine cylinder head and valve train were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: Fca-68094470, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Wasn't sure if this fell under power train or engine itself. 2014 Ram 1500 3.6L engine. Oil filter housing is plastic. Noticed an oil leak upon changing oil. Brought to dealer and hoped it fell under power train warranty. Did not qualify so I'm out almost 1,000 for the repair. Researching, this is a known common problem. Dealer attributed it to being over tightened filter housing. Well research shows this happens due to the temperature cycling over time. Oil leaking onto the engine manifold creates a fire hazard under the proper conditions. Manufacturer should put forward a recall to replace the housings or design one that is metal for an adequate replacement.

Exaust (carbon monoxide) leak: On my vehicle and many others I have heard, either the exaust manifold or the manifold bolts crack or break causing a leak and loud clicking noise. The dealer repaired the passenger side manifold under my warranty but now the drivers side has cracked or broken and the warranty has expired. The noise stops after warmup but here is till a question of how much carbon monoxide leakage is acceptable until he noise stops.

Vehicle stalls randomly vehicle stalls randomly while driving. Dealer can't find issue. Vehicle just shuts off which in my opinion makes it unsafe. Dealer had a 'oh well good luck, trade it in and hope it doesn't stall' attitude.

Had the aem emission recall done now truck runs bad. Sluggish and no throttle response for 4 to 5 seconds. Lost 5 miles per gallon. Shift points changed. Lots of pinging and turbo back flush. Loud and sound like rod or cylinder rattling. No power pulling trailer or when climbing hills, have to keep it floored. Dealer confirmed all problems and says nothing they can do. Around 55000 miles.

I had the aem update done on my 2014 Ram ecodiesel. The recall drastically affected the performance of the truck. The acceleration is now dangerously slow. My wife, my son, and I have all nearly been in accidents right after the recall was done because we were not aware how the performance had been reduced so much. From a standstill the truck takes 3-5 seconds to begin to accelerate. The truck is dangerous to drive.

After having the aem update completed, I lost 5mpg in fuel economy (from 23 mpg combined, to 18 mpg combined), I also am experiencing an incredibly unsafe amount of acceleration lag (4-6 seconds). When pulling into traffic travelling at 40+mph, this lag in acceleration causes me to roll into traffic with no power or ability to accelerate until the engine decides to kick in.this lag in acceleration is the biggest concern as the duration of lag is inconsistent and unpredictable. I do not feel safe in this vehicle and am not confident in it's performance anymore. I, like many other owners would like to get rid of this truck. I think fca should take bake the truck becuase it has become a financial/safety nightmare. As of January 2019, I have spent over $7000 on the exhaust system prior to the aem update coming out (egr cooler clogged, turbo hoses bad, etc.) luckliy, I just had the egr cooler replaced under the new warranty but the drivability (good fuel economy and power) is no longer present. If this truck functioned like this when I first test drove it, I would never have bought it.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. After filling the fuel tank and starting the vehicle, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the fuel indicator read that there was no fuel in the tank. The contact took the vehicle to jt's dodgeland of columbia (located at 190 greystone blvd, columbia, SC 29210, 803-832-1255) who stated that the fuel relay sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

My truck was recalled for an emission recall, V08.all the issues started after that. When the vehicle is moving it has no power between 1000-2200 RPM. It hesitates when the throttle is applied. It is extremely dangerous when accelerating, in the city and on the highway. It does this even after it is warmed up. When towing a boat it is very bad. It can hardly pull the boat up the ramp. It is a safety and performance issue.

Vehicle loses power randomly and completely shuts down. This has happened in traffic, in the driveway, and while traveling down a highway at 70mph. In thirteen months the vehicle has been driven and towed for repair to various dealerships seven times. The first four times it was taken to a dealership, it was released to me without repair due to the dealership being "unable to reproduce the issue". this vehicle is dangerous and should be removed from commerce.

My vehicle has tremendous lag when trying to accelerate, but it is not all the time. I never know when pulling out into a road at a left hand turn if I am going to get throttle response or a dead petal. Too many times not I have been stuck with tremendous lag and almost rear ended by vehicles while turning onto a road. This was never an issue until a forced "fix" for a recall on the ecodiesel engine. Upon initial acceleration sometimes there is a 1-2 second lag before the vehicle even seems to accelerate at all. My mile per gallon has dropped several points and def is being over consumed. I do not know when the truck will accelerate or just lag out on me. I do not know if this is a motor or transmission or none of the above issue. I do know that many people with the "aem fix" for the recalled Ram is having the same issues. This vehicle does not seem safe to drive to to its unpredictability with acceleration. From a cold start, the vehicle is extremely sluggish for several minutes or miles, and that is in the warm ca sun.... I am waiting for the vehicle to not work at all. This has been ongoing for several months since having the vehicle "fixed"

Fca was recently involved in an emissions scandal. The required update (aem) that has been implemented to satisfy the epa has left the truck dangerous to drive. Throttle response is terrible, leaving a 5 to 6 second delay before any power is gained. The transmission wont downshift going through roundabouts, creating a hazard as the truck will not accelerate. Freeway driving has the truck hanging in 7th gear, barely shifting into 8th. Mileage has dropped 3mpg, consistently. In the haste to satisfy the epa, fca has put thousands of dangerous, under performing vehicles on the highway. Many people are seeing failures in the emissions components on the vehicles since the update, including me. I am scheduling my intake manifold and egr cooler replacement as I type this... something needs to be done to get these vehicles back to a safe, reliable automobile...

After the mandatory emissions update on my ecodiesel I am going to get seriously hurt trying to get out in to traffic at a stop light or sign. There is serious lag in the throttle response and sometimes no response at all. How can something that was supposed to make us safer leave us so very vulnerable. Please, please, please for a fix to this issue. Also the update was not supposed to cause a change in fuel economy or the way our vehicles run. It is horrible. It's bad enough that the fuel economy is so drastically reduced, but seriously this is a huge safety hazard. Every time that I am at a stop and then push on my throttle I have no idea if the pickup is going to respond or not. Numerous times I have been stalled out with traffic coming at me both ways. It is an extremely frightening experience. Worse, I am considering an after market "tune" as are 1000's of others. This is not the answer to this widespread problem. Please make Dodge fix this terrible safety issue. How many preventable crashes will there have to be?
