The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35-50 MPH or above, the vehicle was shaking and jerking. The contact stated that the RPM became elevated before decreasing. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the cruise control was activated or deactivated. The ABS, the brake light, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact who is a certified mechanic, diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel cap, EVAP system, and the PCM had failed to respond to the catalytic converter, and the electronic response system for the traction control had failed. The vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V332000 (Electrical System, Speed Control). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle had been previously repaired under the recall. The dealer was informed of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed, and the fault codes were not cleared. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 290,000.

Driving on the interstate without cruise control on at 70 mph. I had a vehicle passing in the fast lane and a vehicle in front of me slowing down so I applied a little pressure to my brake peddle and my truck automatically began to accelerate on its own. I kept pushing on the brake peddle and it was stuck in a acceleration. The brakes tried slowing it down but it would not stop acceleration once I took my foot of the brake peddle it just rapidly began to pick up speed on its own again! I ended up pushing down on the break peddle long enough to turn off the engine and coast off to the side on the interstate. I was so glad it happened while I was driving it and not my wife she could of wrecked into the back of the vehicle in front of us and caused a multiple car crash! The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) light came on while I was pushing down on the brakes to try stopping the truck, but once I turned the engine off and back on again the (ETC) did not come back on although the brake lights stayed on for about 10 miles.

This truck has many issues including emmissions problems thst cussed the truck to go into limp mode related to the boost sensors. This happened to me 3 times on the freeway when the truck flashes service electronic throttle control and power is reduced. On October 28th I was driving the truck on 55 mph roads. As I came to a 45 mph road, the engine started knocking. As I got into stop and go traffic the oil pressure started dropping to 0 and back to normal and the knock got louder. I had the truck towed into the dealership where they verbally quoted me over $24,000 for a new motor. The truck had just over 118,000 miles on it. They stated none of the repairs would be covered by the extended emissions warranty. The dealership then allowed me trade the truck in for less than the value ($16,000) causing extra thousands of dollars to be spent instead of repair. The dealership stated it would be an auction truck. On 11/6 I found that the truck had been listed on the dealerships website for $21,325. There is no mention of the repair or defects on the truck and that price is less than what I was quoted for a motor replacement.

Exhaust manifolds on 5.7 Litre Hemi-??s, bolts that hold exhaust manifold to head break often resulting in exhaust manifold to warp, common issue on various years of 5.7 hemi, the exhaust gases leaking from around the manifold therefore can pass through the firewall, and cabin vent system causing the occupants inside cab to breath dangerous exhaust gases, also resulting in uncontrolled exhaust levels that are not being passed through exhaust system properly equaling higher exhaust emissions. Department of Transportation (DOT) put Tractor Trailers out of service for similar issues due to the health safety risks. This is a common issue with Dodge Hemi 5.7 litre engines of various years and should be a serious issue as breathing carbon monoxide and traces of carbon dioxide are very harmful. Please look into this, the dealership has repaired mine twice with the same faulty parts and now it is bad again and said vehicle only has 70,000 miles on it. Thank you. This is third time first one occurred in 2018 was covered under warranty and only had around 25,000 miles on it.

The reluctor wheel on my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel has failed. The truck was taken to the dealer on May 8th of 2023 where they flashed the ECU as a remedy for the vehicle losing signal between the magnetic material on the Tone Wheel (reluctor wheel). A few months later the vehicle went into "limp mode" with a crankshaft position sensor fault and became hard to start. A local mechanic shop explained to me that the tone wheel is has failed leading to the hard starting and advised me that there is a Technical Service Bulletin on the issue and I should call a local dealer to see if they will do the repair at no cost. I called a local dealer to tell them that the tone wheel has failed and asked if it was part of the recall [XXX] ). I was told no that it is not part of the recall and repairs would be an out of pocket cost. These tone wheel failures are a known issue by the manufacturer and flashing the ECU is a half measure at best in an effort for them to do as little as possible to address the actual issue for the consumer. The safety of my wife and other drivers was put at risk when the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly went into limp mode on a busy highway where limp mode is well below the speed of traffic. Had the recall addressed the known faulty part instead of just telling the ECU to force limp mode when the known faulty part inevitably fails the safety of my wife and the public would not have been affected by this issue. Leaky manifold with broken bolts replaced on passenger side by RAM dealer at my cost. Drivers side now needs replaced. RAM 1500 has 71,000 miles on it. The pickup has and had a ticking noise for at least a year before dealer discovered it during an oil change. I wasn-??t aware it was due to the defective manifolds. This seems to be a common problem with RAMs. Concerned about breathing in noxious fumes.

The components that malfunctioned in my 2014 Ecodiesel Ram 1500 was the fuel sending unit and fuel pump. As I was driving on the freeway my truck started cutting out and stalling from 75 mph. It finally stalled and I was able to pull over in the middle island on the freeway I was on. The truck would start then turn off. The fuel gauge read over 1/4 tank of diesel fuel. The safety of myself or my family could have been at risk if someone else was driving that truck. Even for myself trying to pull out of full commuter traffic was very dangerous with a stalled vehicle. I don't know if the problem has been reproduced or reported by any other owner of the same vehicle. The only inspection was done by the Auto shop that works on my truck. Their were no warning lights or alerts on my dashboard display while this event took place. I had my vehicle towed to the shop that does service for me. They discovered I was out of fuel due to a faulty sending unit and fuel pump. The fuel gauge on the dash was showing 1/4 tank when it was actually empty.

There have been several recalls on this vehicle. The day after purchase there was a class action settlement. I-??m curious as to how the dealership was allowed to sell this vehicle knowing they had all the information in regards to the sell. The vehicle should have had a stop sell. Our family was at risk when the engine started to give out while on the road. The vehicle has been sitting at the shop for months with back and forth on an engine failure, etc. replacement. It-??s all fine to purchase the vehicle, yet we are facing the consequences of the manufacturer/dealership negligence and left with no help and being dismissed due to claims of parts not available. We have a family of 6 and down to one vehicle but, not our part but, due to the fact we have one vehicle. I have sent an email 3 times due to this issue and no one bothers to touch base. The recalls had to have been known by the seller, yet did not disclose the potential risks. We went through major decisions to find a way to pay the vehicle off and I feel that because it is, they got their money and do not care. However, we do and it does not disregard the fact it was manufactured improperly and sold when it should not have been. Not only were other drivers at risk due to the faulty vehicle but, my family was.

problems with the heating coolant temperature regulation sometimes not heating at all or cooling too much. Check engine light came on and coded that toe coolant bypass valve was the issue. This has since been replaced 4 times over the last two years. The wiring was checked and working. The mechanic (not Dodge) stated that there was a software update needed that had to come from the manufacturer yet the Dodge dealer will not acknowledge this. Technical Service Bulletin [XXX].
