gas pedal stuck to the floor

I had stopped on a parking lot. I was in the truck for about 1/2 hour, engine and A/C running. When I shifted to drive , I depressed the accelerator like I normally do, the truck accelerated so fast , it jumped two concrete curbs, glanced off one tree and uprooted and broke two other trees, jumped off another curb span around facing the direction it was coming from. After the initial lunge I was trying to stop it by stepping on the brake. This happened next to the drive lane of a burger king. Luckily no one was hurt.

The truck is a total loss according to my insurance. I contacted Ram customer service via email, they responded 2-3 later , saying that someone will be contacting me, to get a statement as to what happened. I have not gotten anything more from them. I had found a forum on 2014 RAM where some people had posted similar problems.

I had picked my my new truck the Wednesday before. On the Saturday i wanted to see what my new Hemi could do. I stomped the gas pedal to the floor it was awesome the power. The truck actually wanted to impress me so much, it stayed to the floor(yikes) I jammed on the brakes and kept smacking the gas pedal at high speed, finally I shut it off and coasted to the shoulder.

I started it up and it was fixed I decided to call the dealer .I took it in and the mechanic looked at it. He said it was the floor mats. What a joke. The floor mats didn't come for the truck until the day took it in. I told him and guess he didn't believe me. grrrrrrrrrrr

2 days later it happened again, stuck to the floor. I called the dealer and was told to make sure my floor mat wasn't obstructing my pedals grrrrrrrr

Next day I decided to check myself wanted to check throttle plate. I took the air intake hose off and air cleaner off and found a rather large piece of plastic in it floating around. Looked at it and there was marks in it like possibly catching the throttle plate.

I called the dealer and let them know what I found. Was told that's good... glad ya found it . It just made me mad the guy was very rude the way he said it. Now I'm at 4600km and no problem with it since.
