Lost connection with the restraint control module. I have 97,000 miles on my truck., and the air bags module malfunctioned at the same time. Now I am a bit worried about driving my truck.

The vehicle has a fault in the ABS system that is causing the ABS light to stay on, as well as the traction control light and the Brake light. This means the brakes will lock up, causing the vehicle to slide, the vehicle has no assisted traction control, and the cruise control will not engage. In a vehicle like this (a pick-up truck) the back end is notoriously light and will easily loose traction during emergency braking and without traction control, can easily lose control on wet roads. The part needed to repair this issue, the ABS Module, is unavailable anywhere...and has been for years now. Some can still be found in old junk vehicles, or for sale out of used vehicles, but these have no guarantee and are no safer or less susceptible to failure than the stock product. No to mention they can only be found at exorbitant prices since they are in such high demand on an obviously sub-par part. Why does this part have so many issues and why is it impossible to fix? The vehicle is unsafe without this fix! The tires absolutely slide on wet roads now with loss of steering control and the rear end easily breaks free of traction on wet roads! The vehicle also will not pass inspection anymore because of this issue. This has been a problem for a year at this point.,

Safety Issue especially when towing and using OEM trailer brake control.

Driving on the interstate without cruise control on at 70 mph. I had a vehicle passing in the fast lane and a vehicle in front of me slowing down so I applied a little pressure to my brake peddle and my truck automatically began to accelerate on its own. I kept pushing on the brake peddle and it was stuck in a acceleration. The brakes tried slowing it down but it would not stop acceleration once I took my foot of the brake peddle it just rapidly began to pick up speed on its own again! I ended up pushing down on the break peddle long enough to turn off the engine and coast off to the side on the interstate. I was so glad it happened while I was driving it and not my wife she could of wrecked into the back of the vehicle in front of us and caused a multiple car crash! The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) light came on while I was pushing down on the brakes to try stopping the truck, but once I turned the engine off and back on again the (ETC) did not come back on although the brake lights stayed on for about 10 miles.

EPS system quit working and no power steering. Code ?2217-00. It is available to be inspected. Currently being looked at by Tempe Ram service center in Az. System going out while driving can cause death-??s and injury. No issues prior to lights and code and steering wheel stiffening. Also Intermittent cruise control issues with it not wanting to go into and out of cruise. Will not always come out of cruise control when cancelled with button. Previously took in for recall check and dealership said it did not meet recall criteria problem still persists.

My ABS module and TCS light has been on for several years. I have taken it to the dealer multiple time to have it repaired, only to be told it is on back order. This has been going on for over two years. I have a life time warranty through Chrysler as long as I own the truck. Since the warning lights have been on I have had many instances where my truck has lost control and slipped on the highway most of the time in rain. I have also had my truck lock up once, when a person made a right turn into my lane in front of me, forcing me to hit the breaks. My truck skid through the intersection and almost rear ended the vehicle. I avoid traveling with my family in the truck now.

Stellantis/Ram for over 10 months now have claim that the ABS Module is under engineering review to me. The ABS Module controls the brake anti skid, sway control, cruise control and other systems. Since 3/2024 I've tried to replace this module but it's not in stock because of not being produced. It's a manufactured control item only. I was informed by Gator Dodge this has been a problem for almost a year now if not longer. Called Stellantis/Ram and was informed to go to a junk yard to get a replacement with no product control. Tried to exchange it for a new truck but the dealer does not want it on it"s lot because of no anti skid and other functions this module controls. If it's not safe enough for Ram to sale how can it be a safe vehicle on public road ways? To answer any questions, yes the truck has been inspect by Gator Ram and a certified independent mechanic. As a retired Airline Captain if this was a plane the FAA would have grounded it until the problems were address.

My ABS light has been on and when I took my vehicle to the dealership, they said it requires a part that is on back order for almost a year already. My vehicle suddenly comes out of drive while I-??m on the road. It-??s scary because one minute I-??m going 50 miles an hour and then it just turns off. Other times the car does not register my foot on the break when trying to get it out of park to start it. The Dodge dealership says all of these things are related to a bad ABS module which I have been waiting for since December, and they have no idea when the part will be available. I have been on mini Dutch forums and I see that this is an issue across the country

Codes c2209-49, c2200-47, u0121, u11bc, u1110, u1412. ABS, traction control, brake and CEL iluminated. No speedometer and no power steering. Codes will not clear. All wheelspeed sensors are operational per scantool in live data mode. Issue not confermed by dealer or independant as the cost is outrageous. And i cannot find a recall to repair issue. These issues i have had since March 2024. Cost for me to repair would be approximately $1200. Safety systems like these should not need a recall they-??ve had years to resolve issues with ABS problems. I-??m hoping that Mopar sees these issues with other people and has a recall on the problem. My wife won-??t even drive the truck.

I request urgent assistance or guidance on resolving this matter. Question #1- The ABS module in the 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie has failed, affecting the ABS system, traction control, and cruise control. The specific part number is 68228991AD. The failed component, the ABS module, should be available for inspection upon request. Question #2- The failure of the ABS module has compromised the functionality of the ABS system, which is crucial for maintaining stability and control on slippery roads, especially in hazardous conditions. This puts the safety of the driver, passengers, and others on the road at risk, particularly in situations where ABS is necessary to prevent accidents. Question #3- Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a mechanic, and the necessary repairs have been identified. The mechanic determined that the issue lies with the ABS module. Question #4- The vehicle and the ABS component have been inspected by a mechanic, revealing that the issue lies with the ABS module. However, neither the police nor insurance representatives have inspected the vehicle in relation to this matter. Question #5- Yes, the ABS light on the dashboard appeared as a warning sign of the problem with the ABS system. This occurred suddenly and without prior indication of an issue until the warning light illuminated.

The Abs, Traction Control and Brake lights are on. None of the affected systems are working at this time. The vehicle was tested by Chrysler Ram in Peotone, Illinois. they said that the Abs control module was bad and could not be ordered at this time because it is still in product development at FCA.

This is the 4th time it's happened and also the 2nd time iv almost been killed!! I have a 2014 ram 1500 which iv grown to love. Iv have alot of issues but never complained and just took care of... yet the gauge cluster display decides to go into a party mode (strobing) and flickering or just flat out going black!!! I have bad eyes and twice now within 2 months driving at night iv gone off the road because of the flashing in my eyes! Iv found this is a common issue but the dealer told me I cannot get it fixed even though it's been recalled under other trucks! This has almost killed me! Please all I'm asking is to fix this for me... I love this truck but I'm terrified to drive it now with this issue let alone get rid of it and God for bid someone else has an accident. Please help a ram fan pile on the miles with a safe vehicle.. thank you for your time, im sorry for the long message but this is very serious and obviously a safety issue. Again, iv gone off the road and avoided a very serious incident that was caused by a faulty part. I completly understand parts going bad and having to replace them out of pocket. No accident has happened but I have had the Anti-lock brake module go bad in my truck and it has disabled cruise control, anti-lock brakes and traction control. So basically just old fashion standard braking is all that is working. Took it to the dealership and they told me the part is on hold by Ram for review by their engineers. So I called Ram directly and they said it is under review but they could expedite the part for me. I see there is a law suit pending for the 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 2017-2018 Ram 3500 but not any other years. After doing some further research online and using an ODB reader I see that this is actually a very common issue even with my year and model. Even at the dealership when I started to explain the issue, they stopped my and told me exactly what it was and that they have seen it many times. I believe because of the number of issues being registered online and in dealerships that this should be a safety recall, especially because we are talking about braking. I will attach photos.

This whole vehicle has several recalls, looking at what the recalls stated, those are all safety issues that could occur at any moment. The engine has failed in said vehicle. The issues at hand have been confirmed by a registered mechanic. He was unable to locate any engine for this vehicle and it was taken to a dealership, in which they will not fix. Also, have been in touch with Stillantis, however, after giving them time to respond after the initial conversation, to find out they never took down our information. Another issue is they lied and said the dealership said it was fine. The problem is that was a definite lie. They did not know where or what dealership. This vehicle was made and sold to be reliable but, it is not. There are recalls and there have been class action lawsuits but, no one is willing to help with something that was not to be sold in the first place.

I filed a complaint on 7/4/2022, complaint number 11472254. Since then, I have done some research and found out that there have been MANY FAILURES OF THE ABS MODUALS on RAM trucks. I have attempted to buy a new one, but there are none. I called dealerships around the United States, and many have some in stock but can't sell them (won't sell them). And if I try and order from a local dealership, the part has a 6-month lead time. I have asked why the has not been a recall and I have been told it's not a safety issue and that traction control is a nice to have option. While looking at a new dodge Ram, I noticed that traction control and antilock brakes are listed under SAFETY (please see attached). If this is a SAFETY issue, why hasn't there been a RECALL issued?
