February of 2019 I was driving my 2014 Ram 1500 3.6liter 4X4 to work. When coming down an on ramp my vehicle would not turn back to the right. I had to muscle the steering to try and turn right before causing an accident. The steering suddenly turned right sharply sending my vehicle hard right into the ditch. There was no warning lights or maintance warning lights on the dash. I was accelerating when all of this happened and let off once the truck refused to respond. The fact that later models are being addressed and yet 2014 owners are reporting the issue as well is pure neglect.

I was driving down the road going 50mph the power steering failure light came on the dash screen and the power steering completely failed. I was unable to steer the truck and was very close to hitting another vehicle. I turn the vehicle off and then back on the power steering was working again. I continue to drive down the road and once again at a speed of fifty miles per hour the steering failed completely and again I almost went down into a ditch. It has happened several different times during several different actions. It's happened while turning while going straight while on the highway and while on city streets while stationary and in motion. I have taken it to the dealer and they said the entire system needs to be replaced at a cost of $2,400. My truck only has 50,000 miles on it and should not be having any kind of an issue like this at all. It is extremely dangerous and I am actually terrified to drive this vehicle especially on the highway. This needs to be recalled on the 2014 as it is on the 2015 and 16 Ram. There are postings all over the internet of people dealing with the exact same thing yet Dodge has refused to do anything about it. Please help make my vehicle safe for me my passengers and other people on the road.

On July 11,2020, , I started my 2014 Ram 1500 laramie, about noon time and steering wheel straight; I was greeted by a warning light on my dash stating 'electronic power steering service'. there was no issue prior to this at any time. Absolutely no ability to steer vehicle. Fortunately, I was not driving when this occurred. This is a major safety concern for my family and myself. I do not understand how the recall for the 2015-2016 Ram does not include 2014. This is obviously an issue with earlier year models. The estimate to repair this malfunction was $2400 ! Dodge needs to step up and take care of their customers complaints! no way can a recalled part on newer models not be issued for all models containing the equipment"!" it's unbelievable that someone has to lose their life before something is corrected!

Air bag light on for two months, had a tech look at it clock spring kit sensor bad, he said odd as truck is still pretty new, safety concern it controls deployment of air bag, controls horn, cruise control, and engine interface functions:or oil pressure, oil temp, tire pressure display, the fact that the spring semester can control that many safety features and fail. In less than five years is of need to investigate as repairing is only dealer part and cost is. Cost prohibited as most safety features should have a ten year lifetime at least.a refrigerator does and it runs 24/7.

I was driving on the highway at a speed of 70 mph when my steering wheel locked up and the "power steering failure" notification appeared on my dash. I immediately called a Ram dealer and they told me I should have it towed do to it being unsafe to drive. After getting it to the dealer, they told me my power steering assembly ($2400) needed to be replaced and there isn't a recall for my truck. I contacted my warranty company and they said it would not be covered due to it being a technical service bulletin on the issue.

Since day one of buying this vehicle it has always been in the shop for air suspension problems sometimes for a few weeks at a time. Seems like no one knows how to diag the system because it was always darts thrown and no problems ever fixed, they have replaced airbags, compressor, charged the system, reprogrammed/calibrated the system and who knows how many fuses! ive gotten air suspension codes left and right with compressor temp codes... the main concern is the way this vehicle drives when it falls on bump stops and changes the camber of the tires ( has ruined a brand new set of tires due to inside tire wear on both front ) tires are screeching while driving down the road, bounces while turning and hitting small bumps... well that just makes you feel like you got in a crash when it throws you around out of seat! thats even at lower speeds around 40-45 mph! I absolutely fear for my life driving this vehicle and at freeway speeds its just playing with the devil. Its only a matter of time before someone is killed by this horrible air suspension system! the problem is no one seems to care... well unless it was their family member.the system was designed to fail when they put a compressor behind the right rear wheel that flings water, snow, salt and everything else on the road right at it and put some thin cover over it and say it " protects " it! I sure hope they do something before someone is killed, because its not fair to me or any other person to have to drive this vehicle and know everyday when going to work that it could be my last or someones else's last! ive given dealers shot after shot year after year, but something needs to be done about this asap

While driving the 2014 Ram 1500 the vehicle has lost power numerous times. This is an intermittent issue and I have not been able to duplicate on the spot. This means that the lose of power can happen at any given time. This lose of power will result in losing steering and sometimes braking, since all are controlled by electronics. These occurrences have happened while normal driving conditions; rolling up windows, turning on bright lights, and just driving.

I have a 2014 Ram with around 48K miles. Back in February while driving I lost steering. Luckily, I was able to get out of the way of a oncoming vehicle. I had my truck towed due to the safety issue of not being able to steer into my normal service dealer. They replaced the alternator stating that was the issue that made the truck lose steering. Since then I have taken the truck back a few times with steering issues and they are not able to 'duplicate' the issue so cannot fix it. This past Friday 11/15/2019 I went to leave my house and once again while I was driving the truck it lost steering and this time power dropped. I again had it towed into the service dealer on 11/18/2019. Today 11/22/2019 they stated that again they could not duplicate the issue. They did find error codes about voltage but however stated that the computer 'fixed itself' and cannot fix the steering issues. With all this I love my truck, however with the with the safety of myself, my family, and others on the road in mind driving this truck while the steering can possibly go out at any time is not a good idea by any means.
