The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that when attempting to make a left turn, the steering wheel spun back to center and then locked. The failure caused the vehicle to move into oncoming traffic. The contact was able to maneuver the steering wheel with an excessive amount of force and drive home. The sudden movement of the steering wheel was so severe it caused the contact to have severe swelling for a few days due to the steering wheel twisting and popping their wrist. There was no medical attention needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the power steering had failed. The dealer confirmed that it was a known failure for the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a claim. The failure mileage was 166,000.

2014 Dodge ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to power steering failure. THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE FAILURE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL.
