The Air Suspension System on my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 4 X4 has stalled or has currently frozen and this makes it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle. Even at low speeds 25-45 mph it leaves the pavement when crossing the slightest pavement imperfections. The Highways of Louisiana and Texas are filled with imperfections and it is a horrifying experience to drive this vehicle in this condition. I have taken it to several different respected mechanics, and many are the most recommended and it's always the same. "Dodge needs to have their butts kicked for putting this system in a small truck such as this." They warns me, 'it will only grow worse as the truck gets older.' When driving on the Interstate (I-20) in Louisiana and Texas the truck leaves the ground whenever I pass over a dip, bump or a bridge. This is scary when I am driving along beside an 18 Wheeler. Crossing Railroad Tracks is so distressing and uncomfortable needless to say, It feels like the truck is falling apart. I am afraid for my own safety, but I must drive the 35 miles one way to work five days a week. I have replaced the pump, but now the pump is pumping, but it appears to be something else. The local Dealerships have a reputation of ripping people off, and when I call to inquire or complain I only get a Salesmen who can help by assisting me to trade it in. At this point, with vehicle prices skyrocketing I just this dealership should sale vehicles worth the money they get. Dodge really needs to fix this problem. I have looked on YouTube and noticed this is a very common problem, and in every video the owners are stating how dangerous these vehicles are when the system goes out. It is life threatening to simple drive this vehicle to work in order to make a living to support my family.

While driving over a bump in the road the suspension independently lowered, and the vehicle became uncontrollable. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to raise up. A message on the display stated that the vehicle was unable to achieve ride height. The vehicle was towed several times to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The air suspension randomly stops working. I purchased truck less then a year ago. I figured it was due to the cold weather we get in Colorado. However I drove the truck to Florida. Halfway there the suspension stops working. Makes a very bumpy ride, and very uncomfortable and painful. Also I managed to get pulled over in dallas and accused of a dui because I was unable to maintain a lane. Due to the suspension being messed up. Is there a fix for this

My truck vibrates at speeds between 55 -68 mph. I no longer have 4 wheel drive and was told it is my right front differential. They need to replace the entire front end costing me close to $3,000. I have seen this as an issue on Ram and Dodge forums. It seems like if this is an issue with the vehicle there should be some sort of recall. This has been going on for a few years but the 4 wheel drive died last year but due to covid I did not get it fixed because I was working from home. I am now back to work and need to have it repaired. Unfortunately the parts are on back order and at least a month away. I have 121,000 miles and I would hope to drive the vehicle for years to come but in these times $3000 is a difficult bill to take.

The air suspension has not been working properly for well over a year now it intermittently goes down to the bump stops and could cause a serious injury to persons in other vehicles plus my own because any bump that your hit cause the truck to bounced losing traction with the road and that even means when slowing down the traction control ABS bricks in and cause the wheels to not lock up, , also the truck can't hold the load if and in the bed cussing unsafe handling around corners and threw traffic

I bought this truck used several years ago. The air suspension on it fails randomly, especially in cold weather. I just had the air compressor replaced in it and it failed again within a week. It happens most often when stationary, but I have had it fail on the highway when going 65-70 mph. Normally the rear drivers side falls to entry exit level and other corners stay up, but I have had several combinations of front and rear corners fail.

Air suspension fails every few months leaving the truck undriveable. Normal roads can lift the rear tires off the ground and cause loss of control. Parts are expensive to replace and dealerships are not well trained to fix them.

The compressor on the air ride suspension system fails under normal operating conditions causing the vehicle to be out of level while driving, making the vehicle unsafe to drive down the road. This issue can happen at various times. I have experienced this issue when entering and exiting the highway. At highway speeds, the vehicle enters what is called "aero mode." The "aero mode" lowers the body of the truck to achieve better aerodynamics and fuel economy. After slowing from highway speeds, the vehicle returns to normal ride height. With the compressor failure, the vehicle is unable to return to normal ride height.

Drivers side rear airbag goes flat intermittently. This may happen while driving or while parked and not running. The dealership could not find any leaks or problems. When flat, even if compressor is running, it won't refill. It may stay flat for minutes or days, and through many driving cycles then all of a sudden it fills and operates normal. Normal operation may last from a few hours to weeks. Then it does it again. Dealership claims it is the airpump overheating but this doesn't make sense as only one shock goes flat and doesn't respond when the pump is running. Many people report this same problem on this year Dodge Ram truck and have said replacing the compressor and valve body did not fix the problem. One person reported that they had the control module re flashed and it fixed the issue.

Since day one of buying this vehicle it has always been in the shop for air suspension problems sometimes for a few weeks at a time. Seems like no one knows how to diag the system because it was always darts thrown and no problems ever fixed, they have replaced airbags, compressor, charged the system, reprogrammed/calibrated the system and who knows how many fuses! ive gotten air suspension codes left and right with compressor temp codes... the main concern is the way this vehicle drives when it falls on bump stops and changes the camber of the tires ( has ruined a brand new set of tires due to inside tire wear on both front ) tires are screeching while driving down the road, bounces while turning and hitting small bumps... well that just makes you feel like you got in a crash when it throws you around out of seat! thats even at lower speeds around 40-45 mph! I absolutely fear for my life driving this vehicle and at freeway speeds its just playing with the devil. Its only a matter of time before someone is killed by this horrible air suspension system! the problem is no one seems to care... well unless it was their family member.the system was designed to fail when they put a compressor behind the right rear wheel that flings water, snow, salt and everything else on the road right at it and put some thin cover over it and say it " protects " it! I sure hope they do something before someone is killed, because its not fair to me or any other person to have to drive this vehicle and know everyday when going to work that it could be my last or someones else's last! ive given dealers shot after shot year after year, but something needs to be done about this asap

I had just started driving when I hit the button to raise my suspension, everything seemed to be working as normal but the truck never raised and the indicator light flashed raising but never stopped. After driving about 5 miles I stopped the truck turned it off and restarted. The indicator stopped flashing, remaining in off-road 1, but the front was lower than the rear. I tried adjusting again but nothing worked. Got back on the road and got up to highway speeds to see if it would auto adjust but it remained in off-road 1, even at 70mph. It had been below freezing overnight, but the temp had raised above 45 when this occurred. A bit of a safety issue as the truck doesn't handle right, when the front is lowered to exit level and the rear is in off-road 2.

During cold weather (sub 32F) air suspension will fail, causing truck to sit on bump stops (suspension bottoms out on one or more corners, sometimes all 4 corners). Has happened while driving, causing very rough/bumpy ride and causes poor handling if it happens while driving, at various speeds ranging from sub 25mph to 70+mph. Can also fail if parked. Attached image is of front driver tire bottomed out sitting in garage.

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 laramie limited with the air suspension option. I bought it 11 months ago. It was winter when I bought it, and on the test drive, I attempted to adjust the suspension level and immediately got the warning message that the air suspension needed to be serviced. They took it into their service bay and replaced the fuse, which temporarily resolved the issue. As the weather remained cold, however, I got the same message again, so contacted the dealer and took it back in. I ended up having to take it back in multiple times, with them "insulating a part of the system and updating the ECU". as the weather warmed up through the spring and summer, no issues. Fast forward to this winter, once the weather dropped below freezing, the service air suspension light came back on. I checked all fuses, and none were blown, which seems to be the common fault that causes this error message. I pulled them and replaced them to try to reset the system, and the system tried lower the truck, then raise it, to the point where it finally stopped with the front end completely lowered on the bump stops, and the back end in off-road 2. the height indicator stated it was in off-road 2, even at highway speeds, even though that height is not supposed to be able to be maintained at highway speeds. The system also continues to try to raise and lower on it's own, doing so for up to an hour at a time while driving. All that being said, the vehicle is back at the dealer for repairs, even though the forums I've found state there is currently not a permanent solution from fca. This appears to be a widespread problem in any climate that drops below freezing after doing some research online, resulting in damage to vehicles and loss of control of the vehicle in some instances. I hope no one has to lose their life in order for this to demand a resolution from fca.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph the air ride suspension system became inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle leaned to one side. The air suspension malfunction warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (gene's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 3400 S cushman St, fairbanks, ak 99701) for a diagnosis and repair. The contact stated that the prognosis was not provided, however the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000. The VIN was not available.
