The back up camera may or may not work. yes 2 It would be easy to back over a small child. 3 The problem was reported to a dealer and was told it could be a bad wire or a faulty radio system that would be expensive to repair.4 no 5 It began to mostly not work a couple years back

Brand new truck with 4412 miles on it at time of occurrence. My truck was parked at work and I had started it to warm it up. It was 32 degrees outside and turned on my rear defroster for the first time since owning the truck. Within 2 minutes only the drivers side of my 3 part rear defroster window was working. It got hot enough that it broke the glass. The corner where the wire connection is was hot to the touch and it burned through a sticker I have on the rear window. I took it to my dealership and they said they have never seen that before. The next day I was told that Chrysler denied my warranty, because they don't cover glass. My question to them was if I pay out of pocket to replace the window will the defroster malfunction again? they told me to file a claim with chryler which I did. On ramforumz.com someone else with a 2015 Ram 1500 said they had the same thing happen to them. It is starting to get cold in the us and I think this problem is going to be showing up a lot when people go to use their defrosters.
