I bought the truck used so the dealer doesn't care. But the radio can't seem to hold even strong stations. It will just drop out for several seconds at a time. It's so bad that it's really not usable without going nuts. It doesn't matter if it's FM, HD, or satellite.

I bought my truck new in May, 2014. Beginning 13 August, 2015, I began having issues with my radio and my mileage not displaying on my information screen on my dash. Trying to change stations, the music would change accordingly but the station would remain the same. I contacted the dealership about the problem and was asked to bring it in. They explained to me that they would "flash" the radio. I took the truck in, as requested. They "flashed" the radio. That didn't work.

After about a week and a half (24, August), the problem returned. I once again called the dealership and explained that nothing they did helped. I was then told to bring in and they would try to figure out the problem. After day 2, with no luck, I was told that U-Connect was sending a replacement Radio was installed and I picked my truck up around 31 August. From the time I was told about the replacement radio was to be sent, a U-Connect case manager, "H", was applied to my case as well as a case number given. (This is radio number 2, counting the factory radio)

On 9 Sept, I once again started having problems with the radio, again! Now I have a new U-Connect case manager, "J", and a new case number. This time, I had no ability to change my station, not to mention the "computer language" showing up on the screen (see picture). At this time, "STAR" is now involved (some "engineers" that will talk ONLY to a mechanic. I guess they're too good to speak to a service manager or a customer) I was told that STAR wanted me to take my truck back to the dealership and have the files retrieved. I explained to the dealership that my truck isn't set up to receive files. I still had to take my truck, to avoid being noncompliant and having my case closed. After taking my truck and waiting about twenty minutes, I was told by the senior mechanic that they are unable to perform the task requested by STAR, as my truck isn't set up in that manner. Finally, they send a replacement. I took my truck in when the replacement arrived. The radio was replaced and I picked my truck up the next day. (this is radio number 3, 2nd replacement, counting the factory radio)

25 Sept, I once again have problems. This time I have the number 17 in the middle of my screen with a "p" under that and an "o" under that. Today, TEN DAYS SHY OF A MONTH, I've been told that STAR wants my truck returned to the dealership to "have the files retrieved" AGAIN. This has already been tried once, and proven to be unable to perform (see third paragraph). I still have the same case manager, "J", from the third issue. I am still at the mercy of the STAR "engineers". I still have a piece of crap radio. I STILL make MONTHLY payments, on top of an extra $100 per month to the principal.

Over THREE moths of returning to the dealership, TWO replacement radios, NOTHING has been resolved. Complete runaround by STAR and U-Connect. NO returned calls from Chrysler, NO interaction with anyone besides the case manager with U-Connect. LOSING faith in Ram products and will possibly never buy another, due to the lack of proactive actions taken by the product/software makers they (Chrysler) deal with.

On a POSITIVE note, Jeff Smith Dodge has gone above and beyond to accommodate any needs arising from the inconveniences. Affording a rental car, taking me to pick up and accompanying me when dropping off. John Johnson (service dept. manager), Phillip (service dept.), and Johnny (service mechanic) have been very informative (as much as they can, at least) when receiving information or working on the truck.
