I recently had the aem recall update done on my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel and now my truck's performance and fuel mileage has really suffered. Lost about 3 mpg and the truck is very sluggish now. It makes it dangerous to drive. It just barely moves when you press the accelerator pedal to merge into the flow of traffic. The transmission shifts rough and revs the engine higher before changing gears. Very disappointed in the recall and fca for making a good running truck into a dangerous to drive piece of junik!

I had previously filed a complaint in regards to the effect of the aem (V08) ecodiesel class action settlement recall. The number of the previous complaint is: 11210536. In addition to what was previously reported as dangerous/safety related, the vehicle for several minutes after a cold start, although apparently running smoothly, when attempting to accelerate, will not. A turtle could out run the vehicle. It takes over 5 minutes of driving to get a more reasonable acceleration. Again, regardless of a cold start, the vehicle will not accelerate after normal driving, then slowing, and then trying to accelerate. It takes several seconds for the transmission to downshift and for the turbo lag to go away - very dangerous when turning in front of or merging with traffic.

"aem recall" following the aem recall on the Dodge Ram ecodiesel, vehicle experiences dead spots in it acceleration. Pressing the gas pedal, even to the floor, provides no input to the truck for 3-5 seconds. This issue has placed myself and my family in danger in multiple intersections and in merging traffic. Vehicle has also experienced deminished fuel mileage of over 3mpg. Fca specifically states the following: "the aem is not expected to change any of your key vehicle attributes, such as average fuel economy, reliability, durability, vehicle performance, drivability, engine noise or vibration, or other driving characteristics. Click here to read the court approved notice that includes important additional details about the effect of the aem on your vehicle." Almost all of the vehicle characteristics listed are affected in a negative way. In doing so, fca is placing all ecodiesel owners at risk.

After class action settlement of ecodiesel and after aem installed (modification of ECM and tcm for emissions) there is a substantial lag (turbo, transmission) that results in the vehicle not accelerating- like your dead in the water. When pulling into a busy lane of traffic it is extremely dangerous when the vehicle will not accelerate.

I've had a wobble/shimmy in the rear end of the truck from the start. Have aligned, balanced and rotated tires and now new tires. Truck rear end wobbles at speeds above 50 mph. Dodge dealership says no problems with truck and no recalls are available. I see information out on the web of other owners and same problems.

Making the 12 mile trip to work when at mile 10 my truck experienced a decrease in power followed by a shuddering noise when on the throttle. Limped the vehicle off to the shoulder where I noted smoke. Opened the hood to discover a small fire toward the rear of the engine compartment. Tried to extinguish the flames with no luck and with in 5 mins the flames had engulfed the front of the truck.

Was driving down a highway and all the warning lights lit up like a christmas tree on the dash. Then the vehicle started to slow down by itself and then started to take off by itself. As I was slowing down it leaped forward into oncoming traffic when I was trying to turn off the highway. This is the second time this has happened with this vehicle. The first time this happened the dealership couldn't make it repeat so they sent me on my way with no resolution. This time, I got an extreme amount of attitude from the dealership saying I was causing the problems and that I didn't want any help after they mentioned they were going to charge me. I'm surprised they let me have that truck back as dangerous as it is but they certainly did. This thing is like a time-bomb. Just waiting for the next incident and there certainly will be one. They would not let me have the paperwork this last time because I would not sign it.

Have a vibration or shimmy in the right rear tire, wheel or axle. Have put on new tires and rotated/balanced them. Dodge dealership has looked it over and tells me no problem. The 2014S had a shimmy problem. I've read many reviews of others having the same problem at or above 50 mph. Approximate date of occurrence below.

After 3 recalls were performed, including a transmission shifter recall the vehicle now surges and lurches forward when I start it. It is fully in the park position and not moving. I now have to be sure to have my foot firmly on the brake when I start the vehicle. The vehicle is just barely out of the extended warranty at 75, 040 miles.

My driveway is on a slight incline and for the 3rd time since purchasing this truck, when I put the truck in park it has rolled backwards. This happened again today and I had to jump in the truck while it is moving and put the brakes on. This has the 8 spd transmission with the rotary knob.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. While driving 2 mph, with the steering wheel slightly turned right or left, the steering wheel shook. The vehicle was taken to wallace Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (2755 SE federal hwy, stuart, fl 34994, 772-220-3600) where it was diagnosed that the four wheel drive actuator failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the steering wheel continued to shake. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000. Consumer stated this condition repeated while also in reverse.

This is the second Ram I have ownec with a shift knob on the dash. Both have failed around 60K miles. In both trucks the shift will randomly either go jnto neutral or park while stopped.. has happened to me at red lights. I've had to shift back to park and reset the desired gear. On 3 separate occasions I had cycle the shifter 3 times before it would go into gear causing traffic to back up. I replaced the shifter and cured the problem on both trucks. This is obviously not an isolated incident and should be a safety recall.

Twice with in a period of three weeks the same issue/failure has occured. "service electronic throttle control". both times the issue occured during rush hour traffic, at freewat speeds, while driving on a freeway. Bith occurences resilyed in total loss of acceleration. I was left with limited ability to manuever on the freeway, to the right lanes, as well as limited ability to maneuver and avoid traffic from behind, as well to switch lanes to exit the freeway safely. Once exited he vehicle would only reach a top speed of 39mph. Bith times the dealership reported the issue as an egr valve problem.

When coming to a stop, vehicle fuel shifts in tank forcing vehicle unexpectedly forward under braking. If unprepared for the shift, which only happens under braking when the truck downshifts, the truck will overpower the currently applied brakes taking more time to stop. This can result in a collision with a stopped vehicle or object if the driver does not apply harder braking.

Ecodiesel truck for the past 6 months shuts off randomly while driving, starting from a stop and when idling whenever fuel tank reaches 1/4 full or less. Truck is difficult hard to start when at 1/3 fuel level. On June 28th 2018 after truck shut off on freeway brought it to the dealer and I was told there is nothing wrong and I need to keep the fuel tank greater than quarter tank fuel to prevent the truck from shutting off while driving. This is not a solution and it's very scary to be driving with a large trailer and your truck shuts off on the road.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 17V562000 (engine and engine cooling) and 17V821000 (power train); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. Autonation Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram southwest (7980 w tufts ave, littleton, co) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedies. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. Consumer stated transmission shift interlock. The vehicle can shift out of park without the driver being aware. Updated 10/15/18

There isn't enough room for the entire ordeal, but I will do my best to congest it. June 19th: Went to dealer ship with check engine light, nobody there knew what it meant, and they erased it and told me not to worry about it unless it comes back. July 3rd: Vacation trip, about 2 hours into driving, truck looses throttle, solid check engine light comes on, "service electronic throttle control" smoke coming from engine bay, smelled like plastic to me. Found what looked like a melted quarter sized boiling spot on the manifold? I believe. Checked that engine light was solid, and on June 19th was told if light is solid, it's safe to drive, if it's blinking shut off imediately. It was solid. Vacation's over, drive back to vegas at about 40-50mph (truck wouldn't go any faster) on blinkers the whole way with my fiancee in the passanger seat, and 3 year old son in the back seat. An hour ourside of vegas, truck was throwing flame balls and sparks out the rear, immediately pulled off to the desert, and evacuated my son and fiancee. Grabbed red bulls and green teas to douse the fire. Got the fire out after several minutes. If I didn't notice the sparks or fireballs, or if a fuel line caught on fire, we could have died. The entire underside of the truck was burned and the dpf on the exhaust was glowing bright red still. I spoke with an original engineer on the truck, through a facebook group for these trucks, which he states 2 weeks prior when I took the truck in, the egr must have started malfunctioning, and they shouldn't have brushed me off. Which led to it sticking open, and blowing a hole in the intake manifold (the burning plastic smell) when I was driving back to safety (in the middle of nowhere), a regeneration occured causing the dpf to fill up, and essentially explode, and catch the truck on fire. Truck is awaiting reps from detroit.
