1500 Limited 3.0L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 160,000 miles

  1. Had a check engine light come on, and low on coolant. I went to dealer they told me that my air cleaner was dirty although I had changed it about 10k miles back, and said my water pump was leaking. It was a charge of 2K to fix all.

    2. About 1 week later Check Engine Light and Service Throttle lights came on, and the engine was not producing power. I went back to the dealer. They said that the EGR valve was bad, and replaced EGR cooler and other sensors under AEM warranty.

    3. Picked up truck and was told all was good, so I drove off lot - and CEL and Service Electronic Throttle light came on left with dealer, now saying my intake manifold is melted.

This is the third EGR cooler installed in this truck. I do not believe that my water pump was a fault nor that my air filter was bad. They misdiagnosed the situation and caused my intake manifold to burn up.

1500 Lonestar 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

Was pulling my boat and noticed my engine started missing. Got it home, called the mechanic and it was Cylinder #3. Put a new coil pack and spark plugs in, reset the computer. Ran it on the highway and engine light came back on. Checked the computer. Missing same cylinder. Tried another coil pack, same problem. Mechanic reviewed... Camshaft worn. What the HELL! DON'T BUY A RAM!

Evidently a common problem with Dodge (5.7L) engine camshaft. My question is; if the company knows this is an issue, why hasn't there been a recall on this issue?

Any information on the 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn v8, 8 speed, 4x4 and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON? We tightened the gas cap, which we thought it could be. Any other thoughts? It has 16K miles and we JUST bought it.
