I experienced an issue with a ticking noise coming from the engine. I took the truck to a local repair shop and they indicated that the problem was an issue with the valves not getting enough lubrication. The repair shop indicated that this is an issue with the 2010 - 2015 Ram trucks that they see multiple times every month. They indicated that a company has patented a change to the part that squirts oil onto the valves to correct the issue. To fix the issue I had to have the engine replaced. If I had not replaced the engine to correct the issue the engine could have seized or broken down while I was driving.

On about [XXX], I was driving and my engine felt like it missed and my check engine light came on and a message appeared telling me to get remote throttle serviced. The truck began to drive badly and lack of acceleration made it difficult to maneuver in traffic. The truck was very difficult to start and unsafe to pull into traffic due to lagging ability to accelerate. I took it to a Firestone and they pulled the codes and said the crankshaft sensor and crank tone wheel had failed and needed replacing. I decided to take it to a RAM dealer in Franklin TN to confirm the diagnosis. After about a week, they confirmed and said crankshaft sensor and reluctor wheel needed to be replaced. I asked them if it would be covered under the recall (FCA W58) on the known defect of the crank tone wheel delaminating. When the recall occurred, I had the temporary solution of a computer flash done back in 2021, but the actual defective part was not replaced. They reported back to me that the cost of the repair would not be covered. They said my truck was too old, but the defect was discovered while my truck was still under warranty. Also, under a previous FCA lawsuit, they were made to pay truck owners money and extend their warranty. How can they get away with not having to rectify a known defect without fixing the problem" The computer flash simply allowed the vehicle to continue to operate, but it was by no means safe to operate on public streets in traffic. Will the NHTSA make FCA actually fix this problem" Thank you for your time. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Last week, On Thursday, [XXX], at 8 am, I dropped off my vehicle (VIN# [XXX] ) at the local Ram dealership in Houston for performing the recall issued three years ago, on Jun 09, 2022, Manufacturer Recall Number Z46, NHTSA Recall Number22V-406. I have been reading online that there are no parts available since the recall was issued in 2022 and I did not want to wait, as this truck is my work vehicle. In March of 2025, almost three years later, I figured that the parts availability issues would be solved by Stellantis/RAM. I was wrong. My local RAM dealer service department (Mac Haik RAM, 12111 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079) informed me today, a week after the vehicle was dropped off, that they are not able to complete the recall because parts are in backorder. In fact, Stellantis could not provide an ETA for the parts to complete this 3 year old recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am reporting a defective tone wheel on my 2015 RAM 1500 Pickup equipped with a 3.0L engine ("RAM") while accelerating into congested rush hour Interstate traffic. The RAM experienced an unexpected significant loss of power due to loss of crankshaft position. Subsequent inspection by the Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership confirmed that the RAM suffered a loss of crankshaft position due to a missing section of the magnetic material attached to the tone wheel and that as many as 14 cracks in the magnetic material are visible. For an undisclosed reason, FCA US did not include the RAM in Important Safety Recall W68/NHTSA 20V-475 (replacement of defective tone wheel) but rather kicked the can down the road and reprogrammed the software in the Powertrain Control Module under Safety Recall W58/NHTSA 20V-475. Based on material evidence of the failed tone wheel, it is clear that the RAM should have been included in the tone wheel replacement recall. FCA US refuses to cover the replacement of the defective tone wheel under Recall W68/NHTSA 20V-475 and extend the tone wheel warranty under FCA US Extended Warranty Letter X94. I am hopeful that NHTSA will compel FCA US aka Stellantis to include the vehicle(s) excluded from Recall W68/NHTSA 20V-475 and reimburse the owner(s) the cost(s) associated with the replacement of the defective tone wheel under Letter X94.

Tone wheel delaminating while driving. I was passing a vehicle in a passing zone and the truck lost power. Safety was definitely put at risk luckily there was no one in the on coming lane. Problem was confirmed by independent shop. Has an appt with manufacturer March 10th 2025. No prior warning lamps or other symptoms. I know there was recall about this certain issue, but the recall only changed the computer software, and didn-??t actually fix the defective part.

On [XXX], I was driving my 2015 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel in [XXX] when all of the sudden it will not accelerate and a check engine lamp illuminated. It was a near-miss to getting into an accident because the truck drastically slowed-down and wouldn't continue to accelerate. Due to the urgency of the situation, I was prompted to bring the truck over to the nearest Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership in Ontario. Scan diagnostics was initially performed and P0336 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Performance was detected. CDJR Dealership in Ontario further found out delamination and broken pieces on crankshaft tone wheel but only have addressed the recall pertaining to fuel pump (Recall No. 22V406000). The truck would exhibit prolong cranking followed by a "Service Electronic Throttle Control" warning sign that pops-up in the dashboard every time an attempt to start the engine will be made. This have been duplicated when at the dealership and multiple times after [XXX]. I have later found out that there was a prior recall associated with Loss of Crankshaft Position (Recall No.W58) that was launched back in August 20, 2020, however, the corrective measure didn't include parts replacement but only reprogramming. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have: Service Recall W58/NHTSA 20V-475 that have been APPLIED (launched in March 20th, 2020; Repaired in March 13th, 2021 - reprogramming), and also Service Recall 66A / NHTSA 23V-411 that the dealership is NOT WANTING TO APPLY or COVER (launched in June 7th, 2023 - parts replacement). As such, there is a disconnect between the two Safety Recalls from Stellantis / FCA US LLC. Reference Weblinks: [XXX] Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Subject: Complaint Regarding Camshaft and Lifter Failure in 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L V8 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding the camshaft and lifter failure in my 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L V8, which has only 141,000 miles. This issue began as a faint ticking sound-?"known commonly as the -??Hemi tick-??-?"and has progressively worsened, leading to severe internal engine damage. Now, I am faced with the need for a complete engine replacement. The -??Hemi tick-?? is a widely recognized issue that often starts with a minor noise but is known to develop into serious mechanical failure in Hemi engines. Despite its prevalence, this issue is frequently dismissed until it causes significant and costly engine damage. In my situation, what began as a ticking noise has led to camshaft and lifter failure, which I now understand is a recurring defect in these vehicles. This situation presents a major safety concern. With these parts deteriorating from what appears to be a design flaw, there is a high risk of sudden engine failure while driving. The failure of the camshaft and lifters can lead to immediate loss of power, which could leave drivers stranded or in dangerous situations on highways and busy roads. Additionally, sudden engine failure at higher speeds could lead to loss of vehicle control, endangering not only the driver and passengers but also other motorists. I recently experienced this firsthand. Luckily, my family and I, were able to maintain control and get to safety. I believe that this widespread defect requires attention to ensure the safety of those on the road. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate the durability and reliability of the camshaft and lifters in Dodge Ram vehicles with Hemi engines and take appropriate action to address this safety risk. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the NHTSA will act in the best interest of all drivers affected by this issue.

ABS Modular is malfunctioning and recommended to be replaced. I have been waiting 1.5 years for this part and continue to be told it-??s not available. My check engine light continues to be on and my car does not function as it should. The part is identified as needing to be fixed but no parts available. I-??ve called multiple states and made over 100 calls over the year. I am stuck with a car not functioning correctly and told by RAM that I just need to wait. Thousands of people are waiting for this part I am told and other years have been recalled but not my year somehow. This is dangerous and my hands are tied. I am putting my family in danger daily driving or am out 20+k on a vehicle I can-??t drive. This is ridiculous and not a decision I thought I-??d have to make with a well known company like Ram.

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my experience with my 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, particularly in relation to unresolved recalls and inadequate service from dealerships. Last year, I began experiencing significant issues with my truck, ultimately leading me to Southern Motors in Springfield. They diagnosed the problem as needing a new engine, which was concerning. However, my vehicle also had outstanding recalls, including one for the fuel pump, which I was informed they did not address and ended up being the issue with the engine in the first place but instead they informed me I would need to pay for a new engine roughly $20k. I then took my truck to Hayes Dodge Ram Jeep Chrysler in Gainesville, Georgia. While they did perform the recall for the fuel pump, I was charged $400 to update the system-?"an action I believed should have been covered under the recall. After this service, my truck continues to run poorly and still displays check engine lights related to a crankshaft sensor, which I understand is also under recall (number X94). This issue has not been addressed, further compounding my frustration. Given the circumstances, I am deeply concerned about the effectiveness of the recall process and the service I received. I would appreciate your investigation into this matter, as it not only affects my vehicle but potentially other consumers who may be facing similar issues with Ram trucks. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see improvements in the handling of recalls and service quality from dealerships.
